What inspires you to do your most creative work? Is it nature, music, paintings or even your family and friends? No matter what it is that causes that little spark to grow into an artistic wildfire it is safe to say that design is simply imagination brought to life.
Personally, I have always had a love for nail design. Since the days of stealing my mothers nail polish off her creamy ivory dresser to the beginnings of using my allowance to purchase my own collection, my love of nail art has never wavered. Throughout the years some of my best designs have stemmed from the fashions I have chosen to wear.
I recently came across a stunning little number from ModCloth’s Summer 2014 collection that really got my nail juices flowing!
Their Luxe Redux Dress is stunningly chic and sophisticated. It inspired me to want to grab a few bottles and do work. I kept to the color scheme, but wanted to emphasize the lush embellishment. I tried to encompass the sparkle overlaid on the black fabric by creating black tips lined by crystals.
Loving the flowy, flirty aspect of the dress I designed an accent nail with a flowing Victorian style design. I chose this route because I felt the dress is quite regal as if for a princess. Hope you love the nail art and be sure to surf over to modcloth.com to see their complete collection. Hey most likely you will gain some inspiration too!

Truth be told, I always get giddy when I see fashion and art collide.
This is especially so when I saw the beautiful nail art inspiration created by Nail Klub. I believe art and fashion do go hand and hand….no pun intended, so I took it upon myself to see if I could create a nail art inspiration from one of ModCloth’s fabulous dresses for summer.
Trust me ladies this was such a big feat. Why? Well, ModCloth has so many cute and flirty dresses that a girl just works up sweat from gazing at all these frilly summer dresses. However, I continued on for the sake of fashion.
So then, my inspiration came from the Humbly Haute Dress in Red. This dress and me, I do believe are meant to be… thank God we found each other. It’s that mixture of pin-up rockabilly vibe that I love plus when you add on the color red with polka dots whew it’s to hot to handle.
I created red and white polka dot nail art where there is an ombre effect from solid red to these bright shiny polka dots. It was so much fun trying to come up with a look that I feel that embodies this dress. Your thoughts, did I nail it? Just for fun check out ModCloths other dresses and see what you can come up with. We all would love to see your creations.

Let’s make the scarf come alive! Choose a color that matches what you are wearing but not exactly the same. If pairing a scarf with a flowing dress, coat or loose-fitting clothing add a belt to add dimension. However, put your belt a little above your waist so that your waist looks substantially smaller.
Fashion Spy: Of course this look can work in any season, but this fall and winter this trend is a must! We spied this fashion look at the Burberry Prorsum Fall/Winter 2014 show during London Fashion Week.
We love hair that is creative and fresh! In lieu of Project Runway’s new season debut (yup we can’t wait either!) we decided to flashback to the spring/summer 2014 fashion show. If you have ever wanted to try a bang without all the commitment then this hairstyle is perfection.
The reverse ponytail sent hair greatness chills up our collective spines. To this day we still adore this modern fresh take on a classic hairstyle. A ponytail that doubles as a bang? Argh, we just died and went to hair heaven!
Zoe Saldana wore a sexy LBD (Little Black Dress) to a taping for Late Show with David Letterman. Her dress showcased her cute baby bump and the mommy-to-be even gave herself some height with some stunning pointed toe Jimmy Choo stilettos! We thought her heels jazzed up her ensemble just enough without being over-bearing. Shoes should compliment, not scream out their presence.
Love is in the air and there are brides frantically searching for their dream wedding dress. No need to fret we are bringing you a little fashion inspiration today in order to help get you started. Are you perhaps a lady that is into long luxurious gowns? If so, you will enjoy peering into the Johanna Johnson 2014 collection. We loved the plunging necklines that added just the right amount of skin without being risque. Also, the dresses had a modern Grecian feel at times which would allow any woman to feel like an empress for the day.
Style Notes: We enjoyed the accessories the collection toyed with including head pieces, chain belts and exquisite necklaces to show off a bride’s best attributes.

Ciara has been spotted rocking dreads and even took to her social media to show her tresses off. Ciara made a Facebook post showcasing her beautiful smile and locks with the caption, “So many reasons 2 smile:).”
Ciara is definitely having a great year, so fabulous people the time to weigh-in has come. Do you think this hairstyle is a good look for Ciara or does it need to be changed ASAP? Let us know, we’re always tweeting.
Don’t ruin an amazing outfit with the wrong handbag or clutch. Summer fashions usually incorporate lighter colors including ivory and whites. This Brian Atwood clutch is perfect for such fashions as well as darker ensembles in order to give such a look an extra pop. The sequined design is exquisitely breath-taking and sure to draw attention.
