Enhance Your Gaze With Blue Mascara
Beauty Tip: Achieve a set of mesmerizing eyes by simply applying blue mascara. After you apply your normal shade of mascara which for many is a black tint, go over it with a blue mascara. Adding a coat of blue mascara will not change your overall look to blue, however, the blue hues in your lashes will give the illusion of having sparkling white eyes.
Blue Envy
Fashion week always lends itself to new trends and stylish looks for women to immolate all season long. At the Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Show models looked cool in blue. Therefore, if you like makeup looks that are dramatic, edgy, youthful and bound to make you the talk of the town. You should take a clue and give in to the blue.
Is Your Hairstyle Giving Away Your Age?
Who doesn’t love to keep a good thing going? When several people compliment you on your hairstyle, you might think to yourself, “this is awesome, I’m keeping this style forever!” However, if you received those compliments several years ago then it’s time for a change and fast. Just because you rocked a do in the 80’s doesn’t mean you can rock it in the 00’s. To freshen yourself up, consider making slight changes to your hair from year to year like adding a bang, altering a bang, adding some layers or shortening it a little. You don’t have to make a big, sweeping change, just a simple change to help keep you looking up to date and fresh. In the interest of fairness though, there are some women who have created a classic look that never goes out of style and it has become their signature. So unless your name is Halle Berry or Toni Braxton, you will need to make some slight adjustments from year to year so your hair won’t give away your age.
Hair of the Week: Jada Pinkett Smith
Jada Pinkett Smith let her down as she attended the FOX 2014 Programming Presentation in New York City. From head to toe Jada looked like a masterpiece in an Alberta Ferrett Straw Fringe Dress accompanied with Nude Jane Calfskin Sandals by Saint Laurent. However, the glamour did not stop there! Mrs. Smith brought back her signature bob that nicely framed and brought out her facial features. We loved the hair and the color choice of her locks were also beautiful which why Jada Pinkett Smith reigns supreme as our Hair of the Week. Until next time, love, peace and great hair all week!
Be an Ageless Beauty by Updating Your Makeup
It’s not a subject most women enjoy talking about, but the fact of the matter is that we are all aging and getting older. However, it doesn’t have to be a big deal or anything to get worked up about. One way to minimize the impact of aging is to scrutinize the way our makeup looks. What looked great on us in our 20’s may not look so hot in our 40’s. For instance, you may find that you need to wear a different type of foundation now than you did when you were younger. Also, wearing black eyeliner may cause your face to look harsher as well as accentuate any wrinkles you may have around your eyes. Using a softer color, like brown, can help soften your look and not draw attention to the wrinkles. You can age just like a fine wine if you keep your makeup up to date.
We Don’t Mean to Make You Blush
Applying makeup is an art-form that takes time and effort to learn. One slip up in the application can ruin your entire look. One big area of concern is your blush. While blush is meant to enhance your features, too much of it could cause you to have a clownish appearance. When it comes to picking a blush you want to make sure the shade you choose complements your skin tone. Once you have the perfect shade of blush, it is imperative to ensure your lipstick and eye shadow all complement each other. If these elements don’t work together your makeup may end up looking harsh and over the top.
Freshen Up Your Face with a Quick Spray
Freshen Up Your Face with a Quick Spray When it comes to wearing makeup, for some of us, it is as natural as breathing. However, sometimes wearing a lot of makeup all the time can …
Get Your Feet Ready for Sandal Season
Summer is right around the corner and now is the time to get your feet in sandal wearing condition. If you want to put on a pair of some cute, strappy sandals and prance around on the beach then we have one word for you. Exfoliate. Exfoliating is not just for your face, your feet need love too. The dead skin cells on your feet need to be sloughed off and replaced with skin that is radiant and fresh. To exfoliate your feet try mixing equal parts of sugar and olive oil and massage it into your feet. Then rinse with warm water and finish up with a good moisturizing cream. Now you’re ready to start prancing on that beach.
A Thick Sole Can Go a Long Way
High heeled shoes rock; they are sexy, stylish and make us feel glamorous. That is until we take them off the shelf and put them on our feet. Stilettos are great and look absolutely fabulous but if you want to save yourself some pain, consider high heels that are chunkier. They will support your feet much better than a stiletto and a thicker sole, like a platform shoe, will always provide more comfort than a thin sole. Thin soled shoes tend to inflict pain on the bottom of your foot so go for shoes with thick soles and rubber bottoms to help offset and absorb the pressure. Your feet will thank you!
