New York Fashion Week Celebrity Trend: The Bob Effect

While all eyes have been on the amazing fashions coming down numerous runways we have still kept our peepers peeled for other trends as well. We took note of the fabulous hair that has been making its way to the front row. Celebrities play just as an important part as the models themselves when it comes to making a runway show successful. The more high profile persons you see camping out on the front row the hotter the designer must be and sought after.

Celebrities have been coming out to play in droves for New York Fashion Week making for a buffet of serious style. Therefore, what hairstyle trend have we seen to be a common denominator amongst the rich and fabulous? Leading ladies and music superstars have been indulging in the bob effect. When you are Beyonce you could literally throw on a paper sac and make a statement. Nevertheless, Beyonce still chooses to flex her style power whether on a red carpet, at a high profile gala or just relaxing on vacation. Overalls can be a cute denim choice but at times can be hard to pull off; especially, if you are past the tetherball and blacktop era.

We love how Queen Bey chose to make her overall look quite sassy. Bey left one strap undone and showed curves by pairing her overalls with a form-fitting tank top. Moveover, the overalls themselves added flair thanks to their distressed detailing. A few rips and shreds is all you need to take an ordinary, boring pair of jeans to another level.

Style Ambassador: Fashion Mood

We love us some Carly! Our style ambassador has been busy writing up more of her stylish tips in order to share with all of you. This week’s fashion insight causes us all to pause and think what truly is or should be the motivation behind what we pull from our wardrobes. For Carly it is all about that day’s attitude, she writes:

“I believe how you dress goes with the mood of the day. Therefore, make your everyday life a happy day through personal style. It is important to connect with your wardrobe and the best way to accomplish this is by wearing what you feel looks good on you. If you feel confident when wearing lipstick, a skirt, dress or jeans then go for it! As long as you feel good about yourself you are on the right style road.”

This collection made its debut earlier in the year and we were curious as to how it would be received. Personally, we thought the collection was in a word… cool. Being lovers of art and fashion it seemed to be a match made in style heaven. Converse coming together with the genius that was Andy Warhol.

Who just was Andy Warhol you ask? Warhol was an American artist who revolutionized what we now call pop art. Andy enjoyed seeing the artistic marriage between pop as well as celebrity culture and 1960’s advertisement.

One shoe from the Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars Andy Warhol collection that we still get a kick out of and that is still retailing strong is the Campbell’s Soup rendition. Maybe its because it gives us flashbacks to childhood or that it is simply epic to see a famous painting come to fashion life. It also makes us think of an old dance video…

It’s a bird, it’s a plane… no it is just the coolest fragrance design you have ever seen! We love when designers step outside the box and create a full on masterpiece. Of course half the reason fragrances sale so well is due to their captivating and alluring notes. However, for some of us a perfume’s overall packaging can also sway us to have the register ringing.

We are loving Marc Jacobs newest fragrance Decadence which comes packaged as a chic purse-shaped bottle. Jacobs says he wanted his fragrance to truly be indulgent. Indulgence means the act or practice of gratifying a desire or passion. Decadence includes sensuous notes of Bulgarian rose, papyrus woods as well as Italian plum. So then, give in to your desire to have one decadent fragrance.

On The Runway: Love the Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear Prabal Gurung collection. The models looked like beautiful cooper jeweled toned goddesses. There was a great flow to every piece. The collection took its inspiration from Nepal. This was made clear in the choice of fabrics and textures. The orange and yellow powder hues warmed up the runway with chiffon, cascading down taking your breath away.

On The Runway: Artisan flare with eccentric menswear touch. Stripes, trousers and very loose fitting silhouettes which made since because their muse was the pioneering Australian visual artist Fiona Hall. And another running theme we keep seeing on the runway is effortless hair pulled back into messy low bun or hair slicked down pushed off the face.

Rihanna was spotted in her thigh high lace up sandals while out on the town enjoying dinner with Travis Scott after his sold out show. She chose to pair hers with a fashionable LBD and simplistic accessories.
