As if news of season 3 was not enough, Empire fans have yet another reason to get excited. Covergirl has announced that they will be releasing a collection inspired by the show! The Covergirl Empire Collection will include products and glamorous beauty looks influenced by the show’s gorgeous lead actresses.

A commercial for the Covergirl Empire Collection will soon follow but so far a stunning ad campaign has been released featuring Grace Gealey, Gabourey Sibede as well as Serayah. Covergirl is excited to bring the collection to a beauty store near you and had this to say,

“Power, drama & intrigue rule the #Empire… but not your makeup bag. Excited to announce that COVERGIRL has partnered with [Empire] on a limited-edition product collection & four stunning yet easy breezy beauty looks inspired by the hit show’s leading ladies. Empire Season 3 Returns, On Set With Taraji P. Henson

It is official ladies and gentlemen we all finally get have some more of Cookie! Fox network recently confirmed that Empire Season 3 would be greenlighted and returning. The decision makes plenty of sense, due to the fact that Empire is an award-winning television hit and a ratings goldmine.

Nevertheless, Cookie Lyons aka Taraji P. Henson started a social frenzy by posting an at work pic. Henson’s on set photograph proved Empire Season 3 was in fact a reality. Taraji captioned the photo stating,

“The name is #Cookie ask about me. Y’all ain’t ready!!! #Empire we comin March 30 only on [FOX].”

Well, if you weren’t ready you better get ready! However, we were ready and expecting Cookie come back slaying the fashion game as per usual. She did not disappoint and made the earth move a little in Roberto Cavalli and Paul Andrew gladiator sandals. Don’t hurt them Cookie! We can’t wait to see what all Cookie has in store style wise for Empire season 3!

iPhone SE Announced To Be Released By Apple

Well, well, well it looks like the selfie gods finally decided to hear our prayers! If you have been gramming with the iPhone 6 or it’s even bigger sibling the iPhone 6 Plus you may have wondered if you have set yourself in line for developing a case of early arthritis. The 6’s came with a bigger screen (Yay!) but once you tacked on a protective phone case it seemed rather, you know… heavy. Apple may have noticed that the iPhone was on its way to looking like an iPad and went back in the lab to create a smaller iPhone that still possesses all the power we’ve become accustomed to, thus giving birth to the iPhone SE. iPhone SE will also comes with facetime app.

Yes gals, the iPhone SE is smaller which if you have small hands and have been dealing with the struggle of stretching your thumb beyond its natural reach to text you may want to look into this version. Or maybe trying to do that cute barely holding the phone finger pose in the mirror proved to be more difficult due to the volume button being much higher; once again you might want to check out the iPhone SE. So then, just how much smaller is the iPhone SE?

The size of this baby compares more to the length and girth of the iPhone 5. The phone will have a 4 inch screen and come complete with a 12 MP iSight camera. Apple also promises that the phone will operate like the iPhone 6s with faster LTE (thank you Yeesus), Voiceover and WIFI. Moreover, new microphones, 4K video, live photos and sick 63MP panorama photo taking will all be apart of the new iPhone tech picture.

The one thing we were most concerned about was also addressed. Apple also said that the iPhone SE will have “improved” battery life. If that truly is the case we are looking forward to running our IG, VSCO, Tumblr, Snapchat, Twitter, YouTube, camera and multiple Internet windows simultaneously. Lastly, we guess it would be a good thing to talk price right?

Prices seem to be a lot lower than we expected for an iPhone but you’ll still be shelling out a couple hundred for one. A 16GB SE will run you at least $399 while a 62GB will cost you just 100 more ($499). Get in your order early when pre-ordering begins on March 24th right before the actual phone release on March 31st.

Fashion LA Awards Attended By Ciara & Karreuche Tran

The 2016 Fashion LA Awards was seriously PACKED with tons of star power. From Kanye, who recently admitted to being a Bieber fan to Nick Jonas we had many reasons to be Jealous. Nevertheless, we sucked up our style pride and feasted our eyes on two beauties who literally brought it and then some! Ciara and Karreuche Tran shut it down in all black and white attire.

We will begin with the lovely Ciara who attended the Beverly Hills event with her new fiancé Russell Wilson who wasn’t too shabby himself! Ciara dazzled at the Fashion LA Awards in a black gown by Alexandre Vauthier. Ciara and her beau proved that the couple that looks chic together stays together!

Alright, on to another one of our favorite style killers, Karreuche Tran. Flash tattoo designer Karreuche showed some skin in a two piece ensemble by Open Ceremony. We loved the addition of the gold cuff which gave her look an even more luxe vibe.

Believe it or not fashion friends but this look by Tran for the 2016 Fashion LA Awards almost didn’t occur! Tran’s stylist, Bryon Javar, revealed via Instagram that Karreuche’s look was changed just hours before the carpet and a new seamstress needed to be located after a cancellation. Javar worked his magic and got a seamstress and was able to send out Karreuche in her white goddess couture paired with shoes by Azzedine Alaia.

Javar sounds like the type guy you’d want around in a fashion pinch! Karreuche is a lucky gal to have such an amazing team and they definitely created style magic last night. However, Ciara and Karreuche have more in common then just great fashion, more on that in our upcoming hair post!

Kerry Washington 10 Years as MOVADO Brand Ambassador

In a world were job security is becoming scarce and the thought of remaining at one company till retirement seems like a fairytale; Kerry Washington just beat some major odds! Not only is her accomplishment huge in terms of time, but the Scandal star’s success is amazing due to the industry it pertains to and that industry’s ideals. Fashion thrives on youth and considers 25 as “getting up there.” Yet, Kerry Washington celebrated being the brand ambassador of Movado for 10 years. You go girl!

Movado designs some of the most timeless (no pun intended) watches seen throughout the globe. Movado toasted and partied to Kerry’s achievement at Hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel. Setting the tone for the night Movado stated,

“Our beautiful ambassador, [Kerry Washington], celebrating 10 years with Movado at our annual cocktail party at The Three Kings Hotel in Basel, Switzerland.”

Kerry looked like a vision not only in a Movado watch of course, but also due to the frock she wore by Monse. This right off the runway look is from the brand’s spring 2016 collection. Kerry Washington completed her look with heels by Manolo Blahnik.

Beauty Notes: Kerry geniusly broke up her ensemble’s black and white color scheme with a pop of color via red lipstick. This is the easiest way to add a little more drama to a look without it being overwhelming.

The weather here in California has been sporadic to say the very least. In the land where the sun is supposed to shine 24/7 things have been less than ideal to the typical Los Angeles native. (Los Angeles)—Now in full swing, Art Hearts Fashion LA day 2 of renowned fashion shows brought edge, bold prints, and playful silhouettes to Los Angeles at The Taglyan Complex. Sponsored by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Tuesday’s shows featured men and womenswear with a 6 designer showcase including: RESPONSIVE TEXTILES, Yhta’k Designs, Rene Tyler, Koco Blaq, Joshua Christensen, and Mister Triple X. Celebrities came out in style to support the designers and walk the red carpet including: Janice Dickenson, Colleen Shannon, Amber Smith, Angelica Bridges, Najee De-Tiege, Efren Ramirez, Phoebe Price, Sham Ibrahim, Amanda Joy and countless more. Supermodel Janice Dickenson made an epic return to the runway closing out the evening in Mister Triple X. Celebrity models Jimmy Q, Alex Minksy, ANTM Alumni Mame Adjei and Kiara Belen also walked the runway for Art Hearts Fashion founder Erik Rosete for Mister Triple X.

RESPONSIVE TEXTILES opened the showcase with their AW16 collection that explores the world of Fritz Lang’s silent film Metropolis (1927). With the stark drama that is characteristic of German Expressionism, this collection pays homage to the cinematic masterpiece. Next to the runway, Katherine Walker of Yhta’k Designs showcased a timeless collection in memory of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. The edgy pieces combined lace, leather, and satin silhouettes. Rene Tyler launched their new eveningwear collection “Premiere”. Rene’ Tyler is a sophisticated brand that gives plus-size women glamorous, red carpet designs in sizes 14 and above. The “Premiere” collection offers women with curves an upscale, high fashion alternative.

Koco Blaq, presented the brand’s latest collection for Fall ’16 titled “Paradise Moana Collection”. The collection made a splash presenting a new tropical twist on its signature island-inspired line. Antonella Commatteo debuted an animalistic collection for men and women featuring an array of diverse fabrics and textures. The bold looks were accentuated by pops of color and unexpected lines. Joshua Christensen hit the runway with his FW16 collection titled, “Sugarcoated” – A menswear concept collection using lighthearted pastels and playful designs. Mister Triple X closed out Art Hearts Fashion LA day 2 with “X ColleXion” featuring the brands signature metallic and bold prints. The collection features Adam and Eve printed jackets, camo pants, and the signature feminine silhouettes that set Mister Triple X apart as one of the names to be reckoned with in the fashion industry. Supermodel Janice Dickinson closed the show returning to the runway as only the first supermodel could.

Beauty Insider: Akris Graphic Lines Eye Makeup

We recently spotted an interesting beauty trend fresh from the runway. This particular beauty look proves that sometimes it is the most simple makeup that can have the most dramatic effect. Simplicity is defined as freedom from complexity, intricacy, or division into parts. Case in point, the graphic lines eye makeup look created by Diane Kendal for Akris Fall/Winter 2016-2017 fashion show.

Models were treated to a futuristic beauty look that incorporated distinct and precise lines. The graphic lines eye makeup looks varied with some lines floating right above the lids, while others completely surrounded and sectioned off the eye by following the bridge of the nose on up right below the eyebrow.

Can this look translate into everyday wear? Of course, runway shows always have a bit of fantasy attached to them, however, just like the fashions themselves the beauty aspects can be toned down for ready-to-wear options too. We suggest sticking to the single line right below the brows. This eye makeup may not be appropriate for school or work, but is perfect for a night out with friends.

Rihanna‘s Anti World Tour is underway and we are loving her fashion on and off the stage! In Miami RiRi was spotted in a fab Dries Van Noten Printed Satin Coat. The coat has a very vintage vibe and Rihanna styled her ensemble with much retro appeal. Her look literally left us singing, “Work, work, work, work, work!”

Hair of the Week: Zoe Kravitz at Allegiant Premiere

Well gals it looks as though yet another book turned movie series is coming to an end. Allegiant, the third installment of the Divergent trilogy penned by Veronica Roth is set to be released on March 18. The Allegiant premiere was held this week in New York City at the Leows Lincoln Square 13 Theater.

Of course, the cast was dressed to the nines including natural beauty, Zoe Kravitz. Kravitz killed the fashion game in a Valentino design. Nevertheless, besides her daring gown we fell hard for her hair!

For the Allegiant premiere Zoe rocked a super high topknot that showed off her shaved lower regions. We also loved the modern twist to the look with her micro braids. Overall her hair look was fresh and very edgy. The vibe of her topknot married well with her dramatic fringe/mesh gown.

Zoe Kravitz hands down gets our Hair of the Week award. Any style with baby hairs is bound to get our hair antennas buzzing.
