Beauty Insider: Akris Graphic Lines Eye Makeup

We recently spotted an interesting beauty trend fresh from the runway. This particular beauty look proves that sometimes it is the most simple makeup that can have the most dramatic effect. Simplicity is defined as freedom from complexity, intricacy, or division into parts. Case in point, the graphic lines eye makeup look created by Diane Kendal for Akris Fall/Winter 2016-2017 fashion show.

Models were treated to a futuristic beauty look that incorporated distinct and precise lines. The graphic lines eye makeup looks varied with some lines floating right above the lids, while others completely surrounded and sectioned off the eye by following the bridge of the nose on up right below the eyebrow.

Can this look translate into everyday wear? Of course, runway shows always have a bit of fantasy attached to them, however, just like the fashions themselves the beauty aspects can be toned down for ready-to-wear options too. We suggest sticking to the single line right below the brows. This eye makeup may not be appropriate for school or work, but is perfect for a night out with friends.

Keke & Serayah Attend Vanity Fair and Fiat Young Hollywood Celebration

We spotted two dimes at the Vanity Fair and Fiat Young Hollywood Celebration. Actresses Keke Palmer and Empire’s Serayah made appearances at the fabulous celebrity soirée. Young Hollywood doesn’t always get the love that they deserve but these starlets showed just why they are worthy of the flashing lights.

Starting with gorgeous Serayah who’s style game is always on point. Really should we expect any less from a member of Instagram’s hottest squad? For the Vanity Fair and Fiat Young Hollywood Celebration Serayah slayed in a dress designed by Vivienne Westwood accompanied with heels by Cesare Pacotti. She further accessorized her ensemble with a clutch by Emm Kuo.

Keke Palmer also brought it in a chic yet more laid back outfit. Palmer paired a red button down shirt with tie-waist culottes. We always salute fashionistas who take risks because that is what fashion is all about. To wear those bottoms you definitely have to be daring!

Furry Nails Spotted at Libertine F/W 2016

During a fashion show everything is scrutinized right down to the smallest details. It’s not just about fashion but the overall look. As a model walks the catwalk the cameras can be unforgiving. Therefore, it’s important that designers make a statement and create a show that is unforgettable. Libertine’s Fall/Winter 2016 runway show did not disappoint and had us all like, “Wait was that furry nails?”

Nail addicts feast your eyes on one of the oddest yet daring nail trends for 2016. If you are a fan of MTV’s Teen Wolf you are probably jumping for joy. Your eyes are not failing you, you are in fact seeing Libertine models with furry nails.

Nail designs have evolved quite a bit over the past few years. Bling, chains and illustrative details have been faves. However, for awhile it has been more about nail shape. Who of us can forget the strong pointy long nail trend that had us rethinking the use of tampons? Nevertheless, admit it or not furry nails have a slight fun, majestic feel to them. If you don’t take it as something you would rock daily it could be a cute one night nail look that you simply do for the Gram and Tumblr.

So if you want the furry nails look how do you create them? The co-founder of CND nail polish, Jan Arnold, and the CND team painted model’s nails with Vinylux Weekly Polish in Cream Puff (cute, love the name) and Rubble. Next, faux fur was securely attached to each nail using the Super Shiny High-Gloss Top Coat. Boom! That’s how you get this creative nail look.

Kaylan Mahomes Breaks Internet With Family Pic

If you ever need evidence or proof that “black does not crack;” last week you got it. An Indianapolis teen posted a photo on Twitter that broke the Internet. Thousands weighed in on a family picture posted by Kaylan Mahomes. The photo was taken in a car with a caption asking all to figure out who was Kaylan Mahomes, her mother and her twin. However, there was one small problem. All three ladies looked like they could be sisters!

It wasn’t just the fact that all three women were similar in appearance, they also looked to be the same age. The photo went on to be tweeted over 20,000 times. Such Internet and social media hysteria hadn’t been seen since “The Dress” of 2015. The dress photo that emerged a year ago had numerous people seeing a garment in different colors.

Nevertheless, Kaylan Mahomes’ photo had people searching and focusing on the tiniest of clues in order to figure out the answer. The ladies kept the fun going by also posting an additional video. Tweeters begged and pleaded for an answer and they finally got it. SPOILER: DO NOT KEEP READING IF DO NOT WANT THE ANSWER.

After some time Kaylan Mahomes finally came clean and revealed the answer. Kaylan revealed she was on the far right, her mother was on the left, leaving her twin sister to be the beauty in the middle. It was also revealed that Kaylan as well as her twin are 16 and their mother is 35. This squashed the rumor that Mahome’s mother was 13 when she had her gorgeous girls. Moreover, other than being a fun picture game this showed that yes black does not crack!

India Love aka India Westbrooks has become famous for her fab style and sassy photo shoots. India Westbrooks helped start the trend of being “IG famous” and truly making a career from social media. She has now amassed a whopping 2 million fans and her influence is only growing. India Westbrooks and her fashionable sisters were even tapped to have their own show, The Westbrooks, on BET network which helped solidify them as an unstoppable family of strong businesswomen.

With a quick glance over her photos on the Gram it is clear that India is beautiful even without makeup, but of course we love when she decides to get a little more fancy with it. Recently, India Westbrooks was apart of a major photo shoot to help her celebrate leaving her teens behind and turning 20. Yes, it is hard to believe that India Westbrooks is only 20 years old given all that she has accomplished. Nevertheless, we have to face facts that one of our favorite baby girls from Instagram is all grown up. Beauty Quickie: Can Acne Be Scrubbed Away?

Beauty Quickie: Come on, go ahead and admit it, you have tried this method before at least once in order to remove acne from your midst. To be honest, we don’t judge or blame you because let’s face it a giant pimple wouldn’t exactly be described as “cute.” Nevertheless, what really happens when we try to buff our acne into oblivion?

To make a long story short, taking a washcloth or harsh substance to the face while scrubbing vigorously will only achieve in removing the top layer of skin. What’s worse is that this action actually results in more acne being produced! Yikes… definitely not what you are after if your aim is to control your skin’s oil production.

Nevertheless, why exactly would serious scrubbing backfire in this instance? This is because getting rough and going all Hulk on your delicate face causes irritation. Therefore, mistreating your skin will have the adverse effect that you are after. So then, leave the buffing for your nails and always treat your skin gently and with much care.

If you ever need to know how to drop the mic when it comes to style all you have to do is channel your inner Flotus! Michelle Obama attended her husband’s final State of the Union Address in an elegant yet boisterous tinted gown by Narciso Rodriguez.

As soon as Michelle Obama made her debut the fashion conscious took to social media discussing the tint of Obama’s ensemble. Some thought apricot but the Sleeveless Banded-Bodice Midi Dress was actually in Marigold. Good guesses though everyone!

Besides looking amazing on televisions across the country, Michelle Obama also put to rest a long held notion that she is not “known for her fashion influence.” Yeah… just let that thought sink in a little.

Nevertheless, the naysayers, haters and cynics were all silenced when news promptly spread that Michelle’s choice of dress had sold completely out! If you had wanted to get your hands on one sorry to tell ya, but some pretty lucky ladies beat us to the checkout cart.

To maintain gorgeous, radiant skin it is important not to use product that is going to affect your skin’s natural moisture negatively. For instance, if you are not sure if your favorite cleanser is the cause your skin feeling like as dry as sand dunes ask yourself, “After I rinse away my face wash does my skin have a squeaky clean feeling?” If so, your face wash may be excessively drying out your skin which is a look that does not look good on any gal.

Therefore, what is the solution to cleansing your face safely? Simple… use a cleanser that is suitable for your skin type. The problem is that many women are not quite sure which products they should be using, here is a cheat sheet:

What Comes First- Mascara or Eyeliner?

Beauty Quickie: Let’s pour one out and have a moment of silence for all the beauty habits that we left behind in 2015. Makeup is fun to play with but in order to look as fabulous as a celebrity or an insta-famous chick there is sort of an order of operations to get the best look possible. With this in mind we received a question towards the end of last year that begged insight as to whether what should come first when creating a beauty look, mascara or eyeliner?

To make a long answer really short, mascara should always be applied last. The reasoning behind this according to MUAs is that it is much easier to apply eyeliner when lashes are bare. When eyelashes are still nude the lash line is more visible which in turn helps to achieve a more precise eyeliner design. Moreover, once your eyeliner is beat then you can gauge how much mascara is needed (if any) to complete your look.
