We woke to some pretty exciting news earlier today. A major swimwear collaboration went down that will be serving up some pretty darn hot fashionable designs for all the curvy and sexy dolls out there! Long gone are the days of whole piece swimwear lacking any imagination as well as tent dresses better known as the dreaded Moo-Moo. The real women have curves dialogue has really paved the way for more stylish couture for women who proudly embrace their gorgeous shape. Therefore, we are absolutely going bananas right now over the GabiFresh x SwimSexy Collection!

The GabiFresh x SwimSexy Collection is the hybrid child of superstar blogger GabiFresh and S4A aka Swimsuits For All. Four fabulous styles have just been released and we can’t wait to to see what else this camp comes up with in the future! Two looks from the GabiFresh x SwimSexy Collection that caught our eye both incorporated a 2016 swimwear trend. Cut-outs are back and are a sexy way of showcasing your physique.

Besides all the sassy details that the suits possess, we also loved the comfort and practicality aspects as well. Both suits include plenty of support for the girls. No fear of spillage or the girls trying to escape to enjoy their own time of fun in the sun. Comfortable yet supportive straps as well as cups display the goods in a flattering and graceful way.

GabiFresh is extremely excited over the release. She took to Instagram to give a few important details regarding the collection. She stated,

“They’re here! 4 new styles from my GabiFresh x SwimSexy collection are available now … Reminder, suits/cups run small, especially in sizes 12-16. We are working on fixing now for next season!”

2016 Coachella Hair and Style Recap

Music festival season always bring out the best in hair and style trends. During this past weekend the 2016 Coachella crowd proved the truthfulness of this stylish fact. We spotted so many starlets that we try our best to highlight as many fabulous looks as possible. Kick off those heels, relax and enjoy our 2016 Coachella hair and style recap!

Chanel Iman: With her twisted back flowing locks of hair, one of her several looks had us in designer heaven. She wore Roberto Cavalli snake print pants, Stevie Chiffon Wrap Top by Stoned Immaculate, Isabel Murant suede ankle boots and belt by Child of Wild. Oh baby!

Chanel was also spotted with actress Vanessa Hudgens having fun with Forever 21.

Jasmine Tookes: The 90’s were definitely back with Tookes rocking short-shorts, tied up shirt and a choker. Besides her great fashion we took note of her hair. She wore her hair nice and chic in a hat as well scarf. Work!

Ugh… so supermodel fab! The scarf look is great for those pesky spring and summer bad hair days.

Kat Graham: Hats and Coachella are like peas and carrots. They just go together. Kat joined the hat game as she wore a black number with her floral frock. Simple, cute and totally nailing 2016 Coachella vibes!

Jhene Aiko & Karreuche Tran: These two lovelies shall haunt our Snapchat dreams…and we’re absolutely okay with that. Thanks to a deep side part and platinum hair color these two dolls had our focus on their tresses just as much as their gorgeous faces.

Amandla Stenberg: Can this girl get any cooler? Amandla always leads the pack when it comes to trendy natural hairstyles. For Coachella the cutie pie made us swoon over twisted knots. Moreover, Stenberg perfectly demonstrated how to were accessories without them overpowering each other. She wore hoop earrings, septum ring and a choker. Nicely done!

VicStyles & Justine Skye: These two can definitely hold their own when it comes to style. Nonetheless, we matched up together because they were part of the 2016 Coachella “Braid-y Bunch.” Same hairstyle just with their own finesse. Justine adorned her’s with interlocking ribbons and VicStyles slayed with an edgy, sophisticated hat.

Let it spring, let it spring, let it spring! Are you enjoying the season? It is the time of year to try out new trends and new looks that may not require a heavy coat. As things continue to dry and blossom some handy styles are coming to the fore. One cool look we are currently obsessing over is an all-white garment that has all the detailing a fashionista could want, the Jardin Lace Jumpsuit by Line and Dot!

White tinted fashions are like LBDs, you need at least one in your wardrobe. Moreover, do you like fashion that is easy to style? The jumpsuit is a chic piece that can be dressed up or down. Go causal with flats or go nighttime glam with a pair of heels. Add a matching bag and you are all set to walk right out your door.

We are currently adoring the white jumpsuit we spotted on model and blogger, Natasha Ndlouv. Natasha wore the Jardin Lace Jumpsuit by couture brand, Line and Dot. Trust us, seven words… Saint Laurent 100 Lou 48mm Retro Sunglasses. Living here in sunny Los Angeles we are as tied to our sunglasses as we are our smartphones, In-N-Out or vegan food. You know whatever one floats your boat. We have our ways and our fashion choices fall in line with them. We wake up to the sun shining in our eyes and even after it sets our attiude reflects a pop song from the 80’s; we “wear our sunglasses at night.” It is a necessary part of life so we Californians pretty much consider ourselves to be Sunglasses-Connoisseurs. Whatever is fresh, modern and trendy we are most likely a credit card swipe away from sliding them over our peepers.

Therefore, what is cool look for this season? Studded fashions have been everywhere so far this year. Jackets, belts and shoe-wear have all received the studded touch. Now the lovely three-dimensional detailing have found their way on yet another chic accessory.

We spotted model, Ajak Deng, wearing a brand new design by YSL aka Saint Laurent in celebration of it finally being the weekend. She posted several pics of herself while relaxing at a spa wearing her designer shades stating, “happy Friyaaaayyyyy.” She wore a pair of studded black sunnies known as Saint Laurent 100 Lou 48mm Retro Sunglasses as previously mentioned. Color can be the spice of life, however, there is something majestic about classic, sophisticated black and white imagery. For the Vogue Italia April 2016 issue three models serve up a slice of visual heaven. Imaan Hammam, Liya Kebede and Gigi Hadid are all featured in the gorgeous shoot.

We especially enjoyed the stylized moody essence of the editorial. Each model displays a dark, somber yet beautiful pose that spotlights their individual glamour. The effortless and ease of their positions has a seductive, magnetic appeal. The Vogue Italia April 2016 “Individuallure” editorial by Marchelier is a come-hither masterpiece that is enchantingly captivating.

Besides, the models themselves, the fashions displayed are just as engaging. Liya, Imaan and Gigi all wear designs by Valentino. The couture proves that subtlety and simplicity can still be a very dramatic style presentation. Nevertheless, their ensembles were given extra flair thanks to bold statement jewelry.

Spring Trends #2– Throw Lots of Shade: Pretend that you are a cast member of Real Housewives of Atlanta and get to throwing some shade! Okay, we are not referring to verbal shade, we mean the shades known better as sunglasses. This season is all about going big or going home when it comes to sunnies. So do not be afraid to opt for a pair of frames that are a little larger than you would normally wear.

Spring Trends #3 Go Nude: We have to stress we are talking about nail color in this sense (LOL). Black Beautiful Women: Naomi Campbell Book Release

Black beauty was certainly beheld tonight at the Naomi Campbell book release celebration! Campbell’s book, Naomi, is a compilation of the supermodel’s outstanding career in the modeling industry. It is a hybrid two volume edition that tells of Naomi’s beginnings as well as showcases her entire exquisite modeling port.

The fashion elite as well as entertainment’s movers and shakers were all in attendance. Guest included celebrity stylist June Ambrose, CNN anchor Don Lemon, PR extraordinaire Randy Bowden Jr., Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour, Designer Marc Jacobs, Taschen CEO Benedikt Taschen and models the Hilton sisters and Bella Hadid. For the fabulous affair Naomi Campbell dazzled onlookers in a custom made design by Marc Jacobs.

Why should the Naomi Campbell book release mean so much to us black girls? Contemplating on what Naomi has been able to accomplish for three decades is something to marvel. Campbell began her career during a time when black models were barely seen on covers much less a catwalk. Yet, she rose to be an iconic supermodel of the 80s. She helped pave the way for more diversity as well as opportunities for black girls wishing to be apart of an industry that’s standard of beauty did not always include those of a darker shade.

Naomi rose to success not because of her skin tone, but because she possessed the talent, drive and finesse to make it happen. For every shoot, appearance and show she always presented herself at the highest level possible. She is a strong example that confidence, determination and a well-developed skillset can propel an individual to greatness.

What is more Naomi Campbell is still championing the success of black models and encouraging the industry to continue to diversify. My aim is to roll out as many picks as possible in the next few weeks so may my hands be steady, keyboard blessed and coffee pot plentiful (LOL). Today, my pick is an exceptional piece from Le Snob. I am always a sucker for innovation, outstanding tailoring and adaptable design. The Le Snob Le Bag Dress is comprised of all three.

Le Bag Dress is the first ever gown that transforms from a handbag into a dress! Yes, you read that correctly, but I shall say it once more. It is a bag that can be unfastened and re-buckled into a stylish dress. This creative design is as exciting as when convertible heels (heels that would turn into flats) were first introduced. Imagine getting a text after work to meet your man, or being at your best friends house in sweats and you finally don’t have to go all the way home to get ready for a night out. For once the answer and key to your fashion salvation would lie right with your handbag. No more of the whole, “I would of gone but I wasn’t dressed right.”

2016 Gala Spa Awards Presents Naomi Campbell With Beauty Idol Award

Naomi Campbell has plenty to be proud of and moments to cherish. She has walked and opened runway shows for renown fashion designers. She has photographed for countless magazine covers and accompanying editorials. Moreover, let us not forget the numerous as campaigns as well as television and film appearances. Naomi is talented one woman show where onlookers can not seem to get enough. For the 2016 Gala Spa Awards Naomi Campbell was presented with the coveted Beauty Idol Award in lieu of her timeless beauty and aptitude.

The 2016 Gala Spa Awards were held in Germany on April 2, 2016. Campbell looked absolutely breath-taking to accept her well-deserved award. For the event, Naomi chose to go vintage. She wore a glamorous 1989 Pierre Cardin black lace haute couture gown. Her floor-length dress had much sex appeal due to a side split and see-through lace detailing. Naomi Campbell’s look proved the long held expression that what is old is new again.

Will there now be even more sightings of celebrities choosing to recycle classic fashions on the red carpet? Some have had the boldness to do so in the past like Naomi and we think it would be fantastic if others were to follow suit. How many of us fashion addicts have enjoyed googling past runway shows of the 50s, 60s, 70s. 80s, 90s and early 2000s? Those “retro” designs continue to excite and titillate us year after year. Such just goes to show that classic silhouettes and well-constructed couture will never go out of style. Naomi Campbell’s Pierre Cardin gown for the 2016 Gala Spa Awards fit right in with more modern fashion and did not miss a style beat.
