For models there are many honors you can have and experience. There is the opportunity to be a muse in an ad campaign. Also, the possibility of becoming a cover girl with a major editorial spread. However, come fashion week the whole game changes.

Of course, during a model’s career it is always still a total dream in general to walk the catwalk for a designer. Nevertheless, there are two coveted spots a model really wants. The honor to open or close the runway show.

Naomi Campbell stunned all in attendance when she opened the La Perla Fall/Winter 2017 show at New York Fashion Week. La Perla’s Ready-to-Wear collection was alluring, elegant and luxuriously sophisticated. If you are a lover of lingerie and sassy numbers that are “wearable” then you will completely die over the entire fall/winter line.

For her big strut down the catwalk, Campbell wore a glamorous blue slip with lace detailing accompanied by a tailored long deep blue embroidered coat. Campbell’s sexy La Perla number was designed by Julia Haart and styled by Edward Enninful. We also adored her furry black heels which give just the right amount of vixen appeal and are perfect for winter temperatures. All in all an awesome show and its clear that Naomi Campbell will forever be the queen!

Chromat is always innovative so their show is a major ticket draw for It Girls. Who sat in the coveted front row this season? It was a packed out house but we spotted Danielle Brooks, Camren Bicodova and Kat DeLuna front and center. Brooks killed it in typical Chromat couture. Chromat is known for their edgy, strong and sassy aesthetic. Furthermore, many popular pieces by the label include corseted or cage elements and detailing.

Danielle got into formation for Chromat’s NYFW runway show in a sexy caged dress. Her black and white little number accentuated her gorgeous physique showing off her hourglass figure. The actress finished off her look with lace up thigh high heels.

We thought it would make life a lot easier if we broke down this look into three parts. We’ll kick things off with the face in general then dive right into how to get her dazzling eyes. Lastly, we’ll tell you exactly how to finish the look off designed by makeup artist, Hila Karmand. Dunn’s entire look was created using Maybelline cosmetics. Therefore, all you have to do is pick up a few of their cool products and you’re ready to glam. So let’s get started!

Face

Use fit me concealer under the eyes to correct and conceal dark circles. Also use it on the bridges of the nose and bow of the lip to highlight. Next, using a concealer brush, buff a small amount of Fit Me Foundatte Matte + Poreless into the skin for a flawless, smooth base. Finally, contour and highlight using Master Strobe stick for the ultimate glow.

Next up are the eyes. We will keep it completely ninety-nine plus one with you…There are quite a few steps but you can do it dolls!

Eyes

Set your base with Fit Me Concealer all over the lids and pat with fingers to take excess away. Apply NEW Expert Wear Mono Eyeshadow in ‘Forest Green’ as the base color of the lid. Next, blend in Expert Wear Mono Eyeshadow in ‘Night Sky’ from the outer corner. Blend the two colors together to create a gradient effect.

Add a touch of Expert Wear Mono Eyeshadow in ‘Gold School’ to the inner corner of the eye for an extra pop! Next, line the eye with NEW Curvitude Liner (coming soon!) to create a sharp cat eye. Then soften the water line using Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner and Expert Wear Mono Eyeshadow in ‘Night Sky’ on the lower lash line. Finally, use NEW Bigshot Mascara to enhance lashes.

Where is baby Junie?! As much as we love seeing Teyana and her beautiful daughter out and about; it’s still nice to spot TT enjoying a night out on the town solo. Moreover, what better place to be than taking in the voguish designs of New York Fashion Week?

Day one of NY’s fashion week really kicked things off with a major bang. All the shows from morning till night were full of trendy surprises. Nonetheless, La Perla immediately got the crowd in an uproar right at the start. Hint: Involves a very famous supermodel and more on that later!

La Perla is well known for their luxe, glamorous lingerie. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that their attendees would possess the same vibes. Teyana Taylor awesomely fits the bill of sassy and chic.

Taylor’s OOTD for the show fell in line perfectly with La Perla’s Fall/Winter 2017 theme incorporating the beauty of florals. Teyana brought the fashion heat in a garment from the La Perla Spring 2017 collection.

She finished her look with a fur to stay warm in the snowy New York weather. Also, can we give it up one time for her vivacious and boisterous hair color! We love how the bold tint compliments her outfit and blends due to matching one of the shades found in the print of her gown. Moreover, the deep middle part and slanted cut add some sleek, modern edginess. Bravo!

The creation of amfAR came about to the unfortunate passing Hollywood actor, Rock Hudson. Hudson was the first well-known public figure to die of AIDS-related illness. Right before his death Rock donated $250,000 to help others in the future who might face a similiar health issue. His longtime friend Elizabeth Taylor used his donation in order to help establish amfAR.

Solange has definitely come into her own as an artist and it is great to see more and more embracing her vibes. Moreover, for years we have felt she is also underrated when it comes to being a style risk taker. She’s not afraid to try anything and is always fun to see on a red carpet. For these reasons and more Solange makes and deserves to be the fabulous cover girl she is!

For the March edition of ELLE Solange talks about a little bit of everything. She dives into music, love, her ambitions, art and her huge 2016 album. Regarding creating her wildly successful music she stated,

Salamishah Tillet who is a scholar, professor at the University of Pennsylvania and activist shared thoughts on Solange. Inside the March issue Tillet gives her views regarding A Seat at the Table. She says,

The result was Bey-pandemonium! The news spread faster than a speeding bullet. In seconds every social platform was consumed with the Beyonce announcement. Nevertheless, are we really that surprised? Uh, of course not! They call her queen for a very good reason.

Moreover, that very day Bey released the pregnancy photo it collected over 6 million likes beating out Selena Gomez’s Coca Cola pic which had held the record for most likes. Gomez currently still holds the number one slot for most followers on the Gram. Therefore, it’s safe to say both ladies are killing the social game.

Nevertheless, 10 million likes is nothing to shrug off. Plenty of brands and celebs would love to command that type of engagement. In this era of tech everything has changed. For instance, the music industry has had to revamp and rethink how to count or view record sales. It’s not about just pure sales anymore, now streams are just as important.

Moreover, with social media now we base stardom on who achieves and garnishes the most numbers. It’s not about having the complete package just the right aesthetic or following. So then, it’s nice to see someone from the ‘old school’ and pre-Insta era that is still being a boss.

We also got a kick out of all the sisterhood shown this past week. Many celebrities reposted Bey’s pic or left a sweet congratulatory comment. Fellow fashion icon, Rihanna, wished Beyonce and her big bro Jay Z the best with their growing family. Which shows there’s no beef and if there is, it can always be worked through. Let’s continue to support each other, congratulate each other and just be plain happy for one another.

Its a beautiful thing and doesn’t cost a penny. Major congrats again to Bey and Jay. Also, to her hive for demonstrating some more of that black girl magic and racking up ten million likes! Do not see anyone breaking that record any time soon.
