It’s not all sunshine kids. When people see others reaching success, they normally envision a steady upward movement towards the top. However, reality is a different beast. It’s filled with ups, downs, tears, blood, sweat and at times; years of hustle and grind. The story behind fashion label Pyer Moss Wins 2018 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund; is one of triumph and a prime example as to why you should never EVER give up on yourself; or your dreams.

He believed, and so he did. Kerby Jean-Raymond, the couture genius behind Pyer Moss is a winner. Jean-Raymond won the coveted CFDA Fashion Fund for 2018. A move and fund started back in 2003 in order to help up and coming American design talent to find continued success in the tough business of fashion. Not only do designers receive mentorship from established industry leaders; the fund provides significant financial awards to one or more designers in order to help in such areas as: marketing, public relations, production and sales.

Nevertheless, what is Kerby Jean-Raymond’s story? How did he “make it?” In a statement regarding his win Kerby relates,

“18 years designing. 5 years with Pyer Moss. A bunch of fails, mad press, but very few wholesale accounts for a while. 3 eviction notices, mad overdrafts, crazy number of heartbreaks [and] employee turnover. People doubted me so much, I even started to believe it.

Few things remained consistent except my core team, friends and family. So thank you guys for this opportunity to rest last year and reset. Thank you [designer] Aurora James for following me around with this camera last night like a proud auntie.

This ride has been insane – we won, in Brooklyn. Thank you the PM team, friends, family, judges, Vogue, CFDA and Reebok. We’re ready for whatever comes next. Love.”

As you can see, it has not been just a walk in the park. Put did you notice his drive? He may have had to reset, rethink and fail; but he NEVER gave up. Ah, we love the smell of bling in the morning! This past a.m. Vickie S. hit us with the first look of their Victoria’s Secret 2018 Fantasy Bra! One million dollars worth of luxurious jewels and straight sex appeal.

This year’s coveted Bra is a collab between the iconic Swarovski label and intimate apparel giant,Victoria’s Secret. Swarovski who has teamed up with the likes of: Maison Margiela, Christopher Kane, Jean Paul Gaultier as well as Victor & Rolf on jewelry; has produced a creation for the VS 2018 Fashion Show incorporating over 2100 Swarovski diamonds!

Furthermore, this hand-made design also boasts and includes responsibly sourced topaz. Also, you may notice that the Swarovski bra and body chain are set in a sterling silver Dream Angels bra silhouette. Moreover, the stunning center piece has more than 71 carats (yeah, total Rose from Titanic status). In this design’s entirety, it took over a whopping 930 hours to create! Can you say major?

Now… we know one of the reasons you may have decided to check out our post on this is because you know we always are super honest (Lol). With that being said, this year’s Fantasy Bra let us feeling rather… meh. While we are so thrilled for model Elsa Hosk to be the one to rock it down the catwalk. It just seems like this design is a tad bit “lackluster.”

Yes, while 2100 diamonds is nothing in itself to yawn about. This year’s design just seems to be missing the allure of million dollar FB bras from the past. Maybe we have just been super spoiled in the past, but this bra just doesn’t seem to have the typical Victoria’s Secret flair.

However, if you love the style of this year’s Fantasy Bra do not stress because you don’t have a million dollars lying around. Biles who is proud of win by her and her teammate, Morgan Hurd, (she placed third); she still wishes her performance could of been better. During the championship, Simone did fall on the vault, step out of bounds during her floor exercise routine as well as suffer a fall on the balance beam. Nevertheless, while Biles was not flawless, she still showed that she is one physically as well as mentally tough athlete.
