Hair Wars: Beyonce vs. Meagan Good
Today we are battling it out to see if its true that blondes truly do have more fun! In this corner we have diva songstress, Beyonce with her version of the short blonde bob. Queen Bey has worn her blonde locks in curly as well as wavy style bobs, but we personally thought she looked killer with it super straight.
Bey’s opponent today is Ms. Good who has joined the blonde girls club. Not everyone can pull off this bold tint, however Meagan looks fierce! Good gives her short hair the curly treatment that perfectly frames her face. So then, the time has come, who wins this match up? By a very slim margin we are giving the win to Mrs. Carter for the fact she has seniority with this particular hairstyle. Both ladies look fantastic and are both hair winners in our book.

Yesterday Kelly Rowland proved that sequins is a girls best friend! The glowing mommy to be cradled her growing baby bump in a glamorous pink Kaufman Franco sequined gown. The starlet accessorized the look with Jimmy Choo shoes and jewels from Lorraine Schwartz.
Hair Notes: We have to keep it one hundred and give up to the artists behind Kelly Rowland’s hair! We almost made her our Hair of the Week, but we didn’t just because she gets the nod so much 😉 Hair stylists Tymothe Wallace and George Papanikas hooked up Kelly’s crown of glory with a braided up-do that was highlighted to perfection.

Solange hit the red carpet at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards with divalicious hair! She channeled some of the voluminous hair greats: Diana Ross, Chaka Khan and Donna Summers proving bigger is better. We absolutely loved her hair look and wanted to swing it around for her!

Nicki Minaj definitely fired some serious couture shots on the red carpet for the MTV VMAs! Minaj stunned in a leopard print dress by Saint Laurent which instantly became a fan hit. The mini dress was pure sophistication and Minaj’s Instagram followers rewarded the look with almost 300,000 likes in just 12 hours. The couple that dresses twins together, stays together? Could be a working solution to relationship bliss. Jordin Sparks and her man Jason Derulo were all smiles and kissy kissy on the red carpet at yesterday’s VMAs. The couple opted to wear white couture and which we thought was an amazing fashion choice for them. Keep twinning alive you guys, you look great!
Amber Rose Was Off the Chain For MTV VMAs 2014
The beautiful Amber Rose gave all new meaning to the expression, “whips and chains”… at least when it comes to the chains part. Rose wore a revealing chain dress that showed off every last curve. There are not a lot of daring divas that could pull this look off, but Amber has the body to do it. The dress to us kind of had a cool flapper vibe to it and it looks like Rose had fun twirling for the cameras.
Beauty Notes: Don’t you just love how Amber Rose can pull off such a great simple makeup look? Her signature pink lips and black eyeliner show off her stunning face without being overwhelming.
Time to Trim the Fat
Coming up is a one of the saddest times of the year, cut down days. By August 26, NFL teams will have to cut their rosters down to 75 and then down to 53 by August 30. With that in mind, I wish I could cut Johnny Manziel, but since I’m not the General Manager of the Cleveland Browns that won’t be happening. But, I can tell you right now I’m sick of that kid already.
He scored a rushing touchdown and celebrated like he had just cured cancer. Dude, relax, not only is it preseason but there was nobody around you during your little seven yard jaunt. Plus, there happened to be 10 other guys on the field helping you score that touchdown. Take a very large dose of humble pie and study up on your playbook since, no doubt, your clueless fans will be clamoring for your presence on the field by week four of the regular season. You’ll want to be prepared for the debut of your, hopefully short and lack-luster career.
On a brighter note, Peyton Manning was called for a taunting penalty! Yes I know, how dare the refs call a penalty on the saint of the NFL. However, he did run 30 yards down the field just so he could talk dirty to one of the opposing players, and he didn’t care about getting a 15 yard penalty because there were only 5 seconds left in the half. So now we all know that Peyton Manning isn’t perfect (gasp)!
Speaking of quarterbacks, this was kind of a rough week for starting quarterbacks. Cam Newton ended up with fractured ribs and a contusion on his back while poor Sam Bradford tore his ACL and is going to miss the entire 2014 season. It’s injuries like this that make me wish we could bubble wrap our starting players to keep them safe. But this is football and every time a player steps on the field he knows there is the risk of injury and therefore, can’t allow the risks to prevent him from doing what he loves.
Maybe that’s why we love football so much, because we know when those players take the field they are going to leave everything they’ve got out there and the fans will get an exciting and action-packed game. The September 4 kickoff of the regular season can’t get here soon enough, bring on the glory of the gridiron!
