They had us at Tupac. We almost made this a Get Your Man Right feature, but because we seriously want a pair too we re-thought things (HaHa). These socks are already making 2017 leaps and bounds better than 2016. We are ready to do hard fashion time, Tupac Stance Socks… leggo!

Stance Socks continues to raise their bar when it comes to design. After the Rihanna collaboration and Star Wars collection we didn’t think things could get anymore epic. We are glad to say that we were fabulously wrong. Stance just leveled up and are about to majorly cash in.

Why socks with Tupac Shakur’s likeness? Stance answers, “In the 1990s’ [rapper] Tupac Shakur was one of the most dynamic and influential hip hop stars of our generation. Bomb. So far not much press has emerged regarding the Tupac Stance Socks, however, SM is quickly changing that landscape. First images of the socks are spreading like wildfire across all platforms. However, for some of us beauty fanatics, beauty school is not always in the cards. Nevertheless, we talked to several makeup school teachers to find out how to get pro makeup looks with average and at times below average (LOL that’s some of us here at 1966) skills. Today, we are going to gab about why to invest in a high quality makeup brushes set and how to work such tools to your advantage… minus the tuition!

Makeup Brushes Set: Apply Cosmetics Like a Professional

Can you build a modern house without any nails or a hammer? Possibly, but having the right tools will make the job easier and increase durability. Those same principles apply with makeup application. The first thing you will learn when attending beauty school is that having decent tools will make all the difference.

Moreover, this is true regardless of skill level. This means that if you improve the quality of tools and cosmetics used, you will automatically improve the look of your makeup. That’s improvement without even improving your skill set. Crazy!

Okay, so step one. What types of brushes should be apart of your high quality makeup brushes set? In total you will need 8 different brushes. Now of course in time you may acquire more brushes but these are the staples you need in order to begin:

Foundation Brush
Fluffy Powder Brush
Concealer Brush
Small Blending Brush
Lip Brush
Blush Brush
Precision Angle Brush
Flat Eyeshadow Brush

Now you have your list of what to purchase. When buying a makeup brushes set remember that going extremely cheap can possibly work against you. That is because low budget sets can be made with low quality materials. You may find that these types of brushes will shed tons and very soon lose their effectiveness. However, do not think you need to max out a credit card to get a decent set. There are plenty in the $25-$70 range that will suit just fine.

She could wear a sack and we’d still buy it! Luckily, Naomi Campbell is working it in a chic collection of denim. Campbell is apart of the Givenchy family slash gang and was chosen for the Spring/Summer 2017 ad campaign. Campbell commented on her latest project stating, “Meet the new Givenchy jeans SS17 (Spring/Summer 2017) pinups. I love you Riccardo Tisci, thank you for always pushing me out of my comfort zone for another great project.”

Miss Campbell out of her comfort zone? Seems so far fetched since she always dazzles us with her body of work. However, when you ponder her statement it does start to make a lot of sense. As they say in order to be great you have to step outside your own box. Therefore, Naomi proves that unless you change you will remain the same.

Nonetheless, in the ad campaign Naomi shares camera time with male model, Justin Levy. The pair’s chemistry is electric with both serving face as well as amazing physiques. The renown and extremely talented Carine Roitfeld styled the campaign with the fabulous photog duo, Luigi and Lango creating art behind the lense. Kudos to all involved everything came out exquisitely!

Makeup Application Tip: Keep Things Less Messy With Plastic Spoon

Mascara can do wonders for your eyes but can get a little messy. Ever tried applying mascara to your bottom row of hairs? One issue that girls always talk about is the raccoon effect. Sometimes in an attempt to get those tiny hairs to submit and curl, application can lead to mascara transferring to skin under your eyes.

To prevent this beauty issue try using a plastic spoon during your next makeup application. Turn the spoon over so that the concave part will be facing your skin. Next, gently slide the spoon under your bottom lashes. Use the spoon as a shield then apply your mascara to your bottom lashes without getting on your face. Be careful not to go so high with the spoon that you risk poking an eye.

Nevertheless, with this simple trick you will be able to achieve a very clean, professional look. Moreover, you will also create lower lashes with more volume and fullness due to being able to apply a thicker coat of formula. Have fun ladies and here’s to cleaner makeup!

With glee Cipriana gushed about the L’Oreal campaign. She says, “I still can’t believe it! What a way to start off the New Year. So excited to be apart of the latest L’Oreal True Match Campaign which is being called one of the ‘most diverse beauty campaigns.’ Thank you to L’Oreal, the incredible team behind this campaign and all the inspiring individuals included. As a black woman I am excited for little girls/boys and young women/men to see diverse individuals they can identify with in the beauty industry. Showing their true self is true beauty and each and every one of us can look in the mirror and say, ‘Because I’m worth it.’

I have to admit I did shed a few tears when I had to say the classic line, ‘because you’re worth it’ during shooting. As a woman of color who had so many past struggles within the industry just to fight to simply be me. These struggles eventually led me to cofound Urban Bush Babes out of a strong passion to change the stereotypical standard of beauty and show true beauty is diversity.

It is official, FKA Twigs is partnering up with Nike in order to provide creative direction for their new 2017 campaign. As we all know Twigs definitely dances to the beat of her own drum. Her look and style is fresh, modern as well as unique. Therefore, we are sure this is going to an awesome collaboration. So far the released visuals are epic. The FKA Twigs x Nike ad campaign is part video and part editorial masterpiece. Twigs finely displays her skillful dance skills as well as personal style bringing new life and vibes to the Nike brand. She is the perfect crossroad of fashion meeting talent. Twigs shared with fans her excitement and appreciated for being apart of the campaign. She said, “We have entered a new era, a time when personal knowledge and a capacity to feel is everywhere. It’s time we help each other uncover the potential we all have within- to put who we are into motion. We have the opportunity to focus the world’s attention back onto the things that really matter, talent, skill, practice and unique abiltiy. To marry an athletic and spiritual ethos.

I am so proud of this project. Nike thank you for giving me this opportunity to express myself. Narumi Otsuka, Screentones and Cy An thank you for helping make this track. Thank you so much to academy my production company for helping me create this vision and also Rina for being the sickest DP ever.”

Matthew Josephs who styled the campaign spoke out the about the production end of the ad saying, “Do you believe in more? Nike women’s campaign creative direction and starring FKA Twigs. Photography by the insanely talented 17 year-old David Uzochukwu. Styling by me, makeup by the sensational Kabuki and hair by Soichi Nagaki. This was so so much fun thank you everyone who worked on this project.”
