So what is the actress and singer revealing? For the May 2018 cover story, Zoe talks career, trends and of course, beauty! Instyle magazine reveals, “But is it cool? The queen of cool, Zoe Isabella Kravitz breaks down the trends, from millennial pink to crocs — and even cannabis-infused beauty products.”

Now when InStyle says they gabbed about every trend… they mean it! We’re talking fanny packs, denim on denim and even tiny sunglasses. However, the mag did talk about more than just the superficial. In regards to more of the cover story details InStyle confirms,

You Asked: Okay, I kind of just need a little confirmation. I think I found Ciara’s jumpsuit online but the price is throwing me off. This look is by ZARA right? BTW I am in the US.

The brand describes its design as a “long jumpsuit with floral print and contrasting piping detail. [It also] features a lapel collar, V-neckline, long sleeves, front pockets and buttoned cuffs.” For these reasons, the brand named this ensemble, the ZARA Printed Jumpsuit.

Moving on to price we can completely understand why there might be some confusion. ZARA’s website is not always automatically set to the country that you reside in. For instance, the printed jumpsuit you are desiring on our end reads as 79.90CAD. This is Canadian money, so not quite helpful to someone wanting to pay in dollars. It reads as, “All in the Family.” Welp, it looks like that is exactly what Diddy is doing!

The ad campaign pictures the star-studded squad in a tennis setting. Relaxing, chilling and of course toasting to the good life. Diddy is certainly a masterful genius in the realm of marketing. Putting on artists while showcasing his very own product. Thus, only proving that the music industry and its influence is still a powerhouse when it comes to making sales.

Another icon is gone. Fashion visionary, Vale Hubert de Givenchy noted for dressing some of the world’s most famous women; passed away at age 91. Hubert’s designs were widely celebrated for not only their sophistication, but divine elegance.

The French luxury couture designer was born in 1927. In future years, the couturier would come to redefine the modern woman’s form of attire. Givenchy often referred to himself as “the eternal apprentice.” However, his masterful creations since the start of his fashion house in 1952; clearly demonstrated his true skill, talents and pure genius.

Furthermore, Givenchy truly understood the female form. His luxe and dazzling frocks always fit a woman’s body in the most desirable as well as alluring way. His motto? Hubert once said, “The dress must follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress.”

This understanding led to Givenchy being highly sought after by the Hollywood elite. As a result, Hubert dressed some of the most influential women of the 20th century. Ladies of Givenchy included Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy and Grace Kelly. Men too experienced the Givenchy treatment, such as the legendary David Bowie.

Hepburn who wore Givenchy couture in some of her biggest roles is quoted as stating, “His clothes are the only clothes in which I am completely myself. He is far more than a couturier, he is a creator of personality… I’m as dependent on Givenchy as some Americans are on their psychiatrist.” Her sentiments sum up what numerous starlets, models and women around the world have felt in Hubert’s pieces.

To this day, women around the world keep a LBD in their wardrobes. The LBD, or Little Black Dress is a classic, iconic garment that never goes out of style. Seasons come and go. Trends see the light of day then quickly vanish, but the little black dress continues to command the spotlight.

Who of us can forget actress, Audrey Hepburn’s black dress from Breakfast at Tiffany’s? The actress also can be seen in Givenchy designs in her films Sabrina and Funny Face. Moreover, in 1954 Audrey put down Hubert in her contracts as the designer who would design all of her film costumes. Ultimately, the move that sealed designer and muse as lifelong friends and workmates.

Even though Hubert de Givenchy made the LBD (little black dress) look so easy to pull off, he made it starkly clear it is not. In regards to the look Givenchy states, “The little black dress is the thing to realize, because you have to keep it simple.” Listen to him fashion lovers, less can be oh so more.

Besides his beautiful gowns Hubert also changed how the fashion world viewed separates. A blouse, jacket, skirt, or trouser could produce a plethora of stylish combinations. Limitless outfit choices instead of one. His concept of mixing and matching separates truly revolutionized the industry.

The Givenchy fashion house reached out to fans and admirers via social media in order to release a statement pertaining to Hubert de Givenchy. The label says,

“The House of Givenchy is sad to report the passing of its founder Hubert de Givenchy. A major personality of the world of French Haute Couture and a gentleman who symbolized Parisian chic and elegance for more than half a century. His enduring influence and his approach to style reverberates to this day. He will be greatly missed.”

Hello Readers,

Like you, I am also deeply saddened by this unfortunate news regarding the great Hubert de Givenchy. Growing up, his designs were one of the first to make me want to shed my Tomboy ways and hop into a black dress!

I also remember fondly talking about the glamorous old Hollywood with my grandmother. Not just the bright lights, triple threat talent or fascinating productions; but the fashion! The undeniable breath-taking couture that was chic, high-end, mesmerizing yet sexy all in one.

It was my grandmother as well as my mother that exposed me to a few classic films that left me wishing I was old enough to have a credit card. Since if I had had one, a lot of the available funds would of went to Givenchy couture. Therefore, maybe it was a good idea that could not qualify (LOL).

Being a fan of the fashion house, I was moved to write this feature. Not just to tell the impact that Givenchy had on me, but the impact He and his label left on the world. Truly an industry leader that will be missed. Below you will find a complilation of a few of my favorite Givenchy moments of all time. So why should young girls and boys flock to go see Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time? The film’s award-winning director, Ava DuVernay, hit us with all the details as well as several fascinating reasons. From it’s significance in the continuance of pushing for more diversity in Hollywood; to it’s pure relatable premise. Ava says,

“Look closely. That’s a girl. A girl of color. Saving the universe. Heroes come in all shapes and colors and walks of life.

In fact, heroes look just like you, reading this right now. Something to remember in these trying times. Our hero played impeccably by Storm [also appeared] on the Barnes and Noble exclusive Wrinkle in Time cover [which hit] stores on October 3rd (2017) in advance of the film’s March 9 release.

[Nevertheless] the first image I had in my mind was to place a brown girl in the role of Meg. A girl traveling to different planets and encountering beings and situations that I’d never seen a girl of color in. I was interested in that and in a heroine that looked like the girls I grew up with.

[My daughter] Mali. She’s the true reason I made Wrinkle in Time. So she could see a girl with brown skin and eclectic tastes who is the brightest star in the universe. Just like her.”

A Wrinkle in Time- It’s A Barbie Baby!

Oh baby yeah! Wrinkle in Time is not just an amazing movie about to be released. The new Disney flick has also produced a collection of Barbie dolls based on the film’s inspiring characters.

There are dolls for Mrs. Which (played by Oprah Winfrey), Mrs. Whatsit (played by Reese Witherspoon) and Mrs. Who (played by Mindy Kaling). Lead actress Storm Reid says she’s, “In love with the new Wrinkle in Time dolls. My Mrs.’s look incredible, strong, and fierce.”

Nonetheless, Reid is not alone. Director Ava DuVernay is also proud and excited over the dolls. Regarding them she mentions,

“When Disney makes Barbies of your movie’s characters and you just want to stare at them all day in disbelief; because you loved Barbies as a girl but never had any like these.”

A Wrinkle in Time- Her-story in the Making

Did you know the making of this very movie marked a huge achievement in Hollywood history? Many are not aware. However, with A Wrinkle in Time, Ava is the first woman of color to direct a $100 million film.

Sad, yet a reason to still be happy. Upward movement means more opportunities in the future. Furthermore, with the wild success of Disney’s Black Panther; black directors are steadily showcasing that their skills can pull in the big bucks too. Black Panther alone broke several box office records and made over $700 million dollars in just a mere 10 days.

Nevertheless, what does DuVernay have to say about this movie milestone? In a true display of humility, Ava pays respects to the many black directors that helped pave the way. Speaking on being the first black female director of a 100 million budget movie she states,

“Not the first woman of color capable. Not by a long shot. This should have happened a long time ago with Julie Dash; or Euzhan Pacly or Kathleen Collins or Neema Barnette. We need more. And more. And more.

More voices. More kinds and creeds and colors of filmmakers. Thanks to Disney for making it so. And saluting my sister filmmakers. Onward for all of us.”

A Wrinkle in Time- Sade Plays a Part!

Well, not in the film itself, but will be apart of the movie’s soundtrack. The sultry singer’s melodic voice can be heard during an original song. How did Sade come to be apart of this Disney movie’s music? Looks like Ava once again worked her magic!

Recently, DuVernay took to social media to reveal the Sade news to fans. On the Twitter platform she revealed,

“I never thought she’d say yes, but I asked anyway. She was kind and giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I’ll never forget.

Proud to announce that Sade has created an original song for a Wrinkle in Time. It’s entitled, “Flower of the Universe.” And it’s a dream come true.“

A Wrinkle in Time- So it’s a Classic

What is now a film, started off as a book. Wrinkle in Time was penned by author, Madeleine L’Engle. The book was originally released back in 1962. Moreover, L’Engle was an American writer known for not only A Wrinkle in Time but it’s sequels such as A Wind in the Door.

The story of Meg and her brother Charles evolves around a tesseract. A tesseract is a “wrinkle in time.” In the book, a visitor from another realm and dimension interrupts Meg, her brother and mother thus leading the children to begin an exciting quest. We’ll stop there so as not to spoil anything; but knowing that there are additional books in the series; we are confident that if this film is successive Disney will bring the subsequent story lines to life as well.

A Wrinkle in Time- Time Travel That Will Make You Want to Travel

Big budget films means cool effects, A-list actors and of course being able to shoot at some of the most eye-popping locales around the globe! In order to achieve dramatic, unforgettable scenery and visuals the cast took a few trips.

Where did they go? Locations were scouted throughout mesmerizing New Zealand as well as the infamous Redwood Forest in northern California. Ava describes sights that took her breath away. She mentions, “lakes are so blue they look like crystal clear pool water. Everywhere you turn there is some new jewel of nature –just shining, being gorgeous.” Man, now we really want to see this film even more!
