The cameras were flashing, lights beaming, catwalk glistening and the excitement was at an all time high! All attendees at the official launch of the Jasmine Ni’Cole Luxury Perucas line were treated to one surprise after another. There was much celebrity fanfare as well as the opportunity to get up close and personal with the exquisite perucas collection.

We immediately noticed how well-designed and executed each piece of the line appeared and felt. No details were left to chance. The craftsmanship of every single peruca gave off a very natural, high-end as well as quality appearance.

During our exclusive red carpet interview with CEO Jasmine Ni’Cole, it was revealed to us that each peruca takes 21 days to be created. Time, patience and much care is put into each design in order to ensure complete and total customer satisfaction.

Like fashion house Balmain, Jasmine Ni’Cole has also assembled an army of ambassadors to represent her upscale brand. Eva Marcille, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Cheyenne Depree all lend their voice and beauty to showcase the elegant and fun line. Each ambassador spoke highly of Jasmine’s collection noting just how fabulous they felt modeling selected pieces from the JNLP collection. We have to agree they just look absolutely stunning but they literally seemed to glow. Nevertheless, isn’t that how a lady should feel about her hair everyday?

Moreover, the luxurious JN experience does not just end with the JNLP collection. We were also thrilled to learn about the Jasmine Ni’Cole Luxury Perucas Create Your Own Perucas option. From start to finish you can customize your very own Peruca. How does the Jasmine Ni’Cole Luxury Perucas Create Your Own Perucas option work?

Online shoppers can navigate through a series of options to build a high-end peruca that fits their personal flair, needs and tastes. Four custom options must be chosen before construction can begin. One must decide on Style, Closure and lengths. Under style hair type can be customized. A perucas can be made with Curly, Wavy or Straight tresses.

For the ultimate style variation there are six different sizes of closures to select from. Closures allow for freestyling parting along the cap area. Therefore, depending on how you will want to style your perucas their is plenty of closure selections in order to make a trendy look possible.

Next, hair length brought into the design process. Two hair lengths can be selected between 12-18 inches.

Once your luxury peruca has been custom made it will be delivered right to your doorstep in a sophisticated, voguish case. Recently, one major style was spotted on three glamorous starlets: Zendaya, Tika Sumpter and Aja King.

Zendaya, Tika Sumpter and Aja King enjoyed a luncheon together hosted by Zendaya herself and Glamour mag. We cannot put it into exact words but there is just something absolutely hair-licious about a high ponytail reaching towards the heavens. If such a hairstyle could talk it would say something to the effect, “Hi, I’m a style and I’m like super fierce. What up?” Beyond that mix in some more dramatic attitude by flipping the script and pulling said hairstyle to the side and you’re just asking to command attention! The Purple Unicorn recently decided to let her tresses reign the hair game. The Justine Skye High Ponytail is what spring 2016 hair trends are all about and then some!

Hair of the Week: Ciara’s Voluminous Waves Announcing BBMAs!

Ciara’s hair this week made us want to get up and one, two step! Her tresses looked like they belonged in the grand state of Texas where everything is bigger. Ciara’s gorgeous voluminous waves spotted in NYC was quite fitting for the humongous news she had in her possession for this year’s BBMAs!

The BBMAs better known as the Billboard Music Awards are fast approaching in order to honor the best of the best in music. Ciara was on hand with hip hop artist Ludacris in New York City to announce this year’s nominees. However, the announcement would not be the only time we see this dynamic duo together in 2016. Ciara and Ludacris will be the hosts of the 2016 BBMAs next month!

This will not be Ludacris’ first stab at hosting one of the year’s hottest musical events. Like the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls Ludacris will 3-peat this year. So then, let us give a quick round of applause to Luda for scoring yet another hosting spot on the BBMAs.

Luda and CiCi make a great pairing for the show. They already have a smash hit under their belts due to working together. If the song Ride It came to mind go ahead and brush your shoulder off. You sir/ma’am are a music “G.”

Before this post closes let’s get back to that hair! Ciara scores our Hair of the Week award due to sheer volume alone. For weeks Ciara has rocked braids, updos and mostly very loose hanging waves. However, CiCi changed up her hair game by letting out her inner diva. She is serving us Diana Ross glamour. Moreover, the deep middle part gives her locks even more sleek attitude. We love it and hope to see more of it.

Rihanna has been slaying from the music charts to the red carpet. In music, Rih’s Work single has stood atop of Billboard for an impressive six weeks! On top of that, it seems like fans cannot get enough of hearing Rihanna or seeing her. Youtube announced that Rihanna has just become the first female ever to have 20 million subscribers. All of these impressive records clearly indicate that Rihanna is killing the game. To honor and recognize the huge successes of the mega songstress, Black Girls Rock 2016 is presenting our favorite badgal, Rihanna, with the Rock Star Award.

For the one of the year’s biggest events celebrating the achievements of black girls, Rihanna dazzled in Miu Miu Fall 2016. Her hair was super glamorous with shiny, sleek tresses and a deep off-center part. Hair was effortlessly pulled back behind her ears. To add more drama, pearl and jewel encrusted hair accessories accompanied her hair look.

For a ensemble to be successful, overall harmony must exist. If pieces compete or clash, an outfit’s appeal can begin to diminish. Many naturalistas must always think, ‘Duh’ any time someone mentions the word conditioner. However, it is as true now as it was the first time anyone said it. The longer the strand the longer it takes for natural oils to travel from the scalp to the end of a strand. The same is true of curly hair. The tighter the curl the longer it will take for oils to reach the ends. Any girl who has ever dealt with “shrinkage” knows this to be true. Often times the lower parts of your hair nearer to the ends tend to look more worn or dry due to this travel time. Therefore, give your strands a helping hand and saturate your hair with conditioner in order to moisturize and protect every one of your hard-earned inches of natural hair.

Major Key: Shampoo Is Not Always Your Boo

One way to strip your hair of the much needed hydration and conditioning it needs is to use a product containing Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. If you are serious about haircare it is always wise to look to see what ingredients make up the products that you use regularly. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, often found in shampoo, can be harmful for natural hair because it’s a detergent and a salt. Most curls will find such a mix to be too severe and without enough conditioning agents present the hair’s cuticles can be lifted. Whenever a celebrity changes up their hair game the world takes notice! Tyra Banks dreadlocks has had social media in an uproar for the past couple weeks and we are still loving it! It is definitely a different hairstyle for the supermodel but it is gorgeous!

More and more celebrities are embracing natural hair. Such styles are great at protecting strands as well as allowing tresses to be styled without heat or harmful products. If you are growing out your hair or need a “transitional” hairstyle when going natural, braids or locs are the way to go.

Hair of the Week: Zoe Kravitz at Allegiant Premiere

Well gals it looks as though yet another book turned movie series is coming to an end. Allegiant, the third installment of the Divergent trilogy penned by Veronica Roth is set to be released on March 18. The Allegiant premiere was held this week in New York City at the Leows Lincoln Square 13 Theater.

Of course, the cast was dressed to the nines including natural beauty, Zoe Kravitz. Kravitz killed the fashion game in a Valentino design. Nevertheless, besides her daring gown we fell hard for her hair!

For the Allegiant premiere Zoe rocked a super high topknot that showed off her shaved lower regions. We also loved the modern twist to the look with her micro braids. Overall her hair look was fresh and very edgy. The vibe of her topknot married well with her dramatic fringe/mesh gown.

Zoe Kravitz hands down gets our Hair of the Week award. Any style with baby hairs is bound to get our hair antennas buzzing.
