Obsession: Rihanna Coachella 2016 Spring Gucci Sunglasses

We are still obsessed with Rihanna’s Coachella attire, but hey the first step is admittance right? There were so many awesome aspects of Rihanna’s outfit for the popular annual music festival that we will do our best to break it all down. First off, we want to give it up one time for all the bling factor that RiRi had going on. She truly was shining bright like a diamond as she partied the night away with Oscars’ winner, Leonardo DiCaprio. One fabulous piece of style greatness that we are still obsessed with is Rihanna’s Coachella 2016 Spring Gucci Sunglasses.

When your career is red hot why shouldn’t a girl literally look like a shining star? For weeks we had been seeing Gucci’s spring eyewear and one pair took us by fashion storm. Mainly because we are such suckers for anything bedazzled. Therefore, an accessory with a rhinestone factor would definitely do it for us. Moreover, Rihanna’s Coachella 2016 Spring Gucci Sunglasses are for the girl who WANTS to be seen. For the girl who’s bold, a style risk-taker and comes alive at night. If that’s you then you really need these shades.

The rest of Rihanna’s look just kept getting better and better. She wore a vintage Harley Davidson sweatshirt and then ladies as well gents there was the jewelry. Hang on tight. First, take a closer look at the following photo then we’ll explain.

Rihanna wore three stunning jewelry pieces. The first two came from Lynn Ban: the Cameo Necklace as well as RF Initial Rings. Then the crown jewel was by Fallon, Fallon’s custom made Chantilly Lace Bandana. We want this bandana SO bad. It was blinging more than the stars that night! Fallon’s bandana is literally made with a vintage Hermes scarf. Style Achievement unlocked.

Alright peeps, it’s official… Rihanna has completely taken over the fashion industry. She’s the muse and face of major designers, regular cover girl, couture collaborator and influencer of stylish trends. No one is coming close to this hard-working mama! It seems just like yesterday that Rihanna made quite the stir with her previous collection in collaboration with sock brand Stance. Now the songstress is releasing a whole new collection to “purty” up those legs and tootsies. Ladies and guys full of style prowess the Rihanna x Stance new summer collection has finally arrived!

Today, April 19th, marked the official release date of the new styles that make up the long-waited Rihanna x Stance new summer collection volume deux. The ad campaign for the looks have a chic retro vibe. Rihanna and her girls rock pin curls with pin-up doll inspired fashions.

The Rihanna x Stance collab includes all shapes of socks as well as various colors. The socks are not all identical one notes. From ankle length all the way to mid-thigh you can find a sock that suits your mood. Moreover, we adore the sheer and see-through elements of some of the socks. Pure sexiness if you ask us!

Another creative design is the footless knee-high socks. It’s like an updated leg warmer on style crack. If your life depended on you bringing the boys to the yard these socks would be your salvation. They’re just that awesome.

Rihanna has another reason to be excited about today. Her single Work has once again claimed the number one spot on Billboard. RiRi hit up the Gram to thank fans stating,

“Week 9! Work is still at the top of the charts this week! This is unbelievable!!! Thank you for your continued support of my music!!! Glory to God!! One Love Always!”

2016 Coachella Hair and Style Recap

Music festival season always bring out the best in hair and style trends. During this past weekend the 2016 Coachella crowd proved the truthfulness of this stylish fact. We spotted so many starlets that we try our best to highlight as many fabulous looks as possible. Kick off those heels, relax and enjoy our 2016 Coachella hair and style recap!

Chanel Iman: With her twisted back flowing locks of hair, one of her several looks had us in designer heaven. She wore Roberto Cavalli snake print pants, Stevie Chiffon Wrap Top by Stoned Immaculate, Isabel Murant suede ankle boots and belt by Child of Wild. Oh baby!

Chanel was also spotted with actress Vanessa Hudgens having fun with Forever 21.

Jasmine Tookes: The 90’s were definitely back with Tookes rocking short-shorts, tied up shirt and a choker. Besides her great fashion we took note of her hair. She wore her hair nice and chic in a hat as well scarf. Work!

Ugh… so supermodel fab! The scarf look is great for those pesky spring and summer bad hair days.

Kat Graham: Hats and Coachella are like peas and carrots. They just go together. Kat joined the hat game as she wore a black number with her floral frock. Simple, cute and totally nailing 2016 Coachella vibes!

Jhene Aiko & Karreuche Tran: These two lovelies shall haunt our Snapchat dreams…and we’re absolutely okay with that. Thanks to a deep side part and platinum hair color these two dolls had our focus on their tresses just as much as their gorgeous faces.

Amandla Stenberg: Can this girl get any cooler? Amandla always leads the pack when it comes to trendy natural hairstyles. For Coachella the cutie pie made us swoon over twisted knots. Moreover, Stenberg perfectly demonstrated how to were accessories without them overpowering each other. She wore hoop earrings, septum ring and a choker. Nicely done!

VicStyles & Justine Skye: These two can definitely hold their own when it comes to style. Nonetheless, we matched up together because they were part of the 2016 Coachella “Braid-y Bunch.” Same hairstyle just with their own finesse. Justine adorned her’s with interlocking ribbons and VicStyles slayed with an edgy, sophisticated hat.

We cannot put it into exact words but there is just something absolutely hair-licious about a high ponytail reaching towards the heavens. If such a hairstyle could talk it would say something to the effect, “Hi, I’m a style and I’m like super fierce. What up?” Beyond that mix in some more dramatic attitude by flipping the script and pulling said hairstyle to the side and you’re just asking to command attention! The Purple Unicorn recently decided to let her tresses reign the hair game. The Justine Skye High Ponytail is what spring 2016 hair trends are all about and then some!

What’s not to love about the Justine Skye High Ponytail? It’s cool and modern thanks to her signature deep purple hair color. Plus, the volume of the tail makes the style seem less stiff and ridiculously fun to rock.

Hair of the Week: Ciara’s Voluminous Waves Announcing BBMAs!

Ciara’s hair this week made us want to get up and one, two step! Her tresses looked like they belonged in the grand state of Texas where everything is bigger. Ciara’s gorgeous voluminous waves spotted in NYC was quite fitting for the humongous news she had in her possession for this year’s BBMAs!

The BBMAs better known as the Billboard Music Awards are fast approaching in order to honor the best of the best in music. Ciara was on hand with hip hop artist Ludacris in New York City to announce this year’s nominees. However, the announcement would not be the only time we see this dynamic duo together in 2016. Ciara and Ludacris will be the hosts of the 2016 BBMAs next month!

This will not be Ludacris’ first stab at hosting one of the year’s hottest musical events. Like the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls Ludacris will 3-peat this year. So then, let us give a quick round of applause to Luda for scoring yet another hosting spot on the BBMAs.

Luda and CiCi make a great pairing for the show. They already have a smash hit under their belts due to working together. If the song Ride It came to mind go ahead and brush your shoulder off. You sir/ma’am are a music “G.”

Before this post closes let’s get back to that hair! Ciara scores our Hair of the Week award due to sheer volume alone. For weeks Ciara has rocked braids, updos and mostly very loose hanging waves. However, CiCi changed up her hair game by letting out her inner diva. She is serving us Diana Ross glamour. Moreover, the deep middle part gives her locks even more sleek attitude. We love it and hope to see more of it.

2016 MTV Movie Awards: Kat Graham Dolce Gabbana Throwback

Beauty Kat Graham attended the 2016 MTV Movie Awards in a form fitting vintage design. Well… that is if you consider 13 years long enough for fashion to be considered “retro.” Graham rocked a gorgeous Dolce and Gabbana dress that was apart of the DG Spring 2003 collection.

One of the biggest fears of any fashionable woman is showing up somewhere and seeing some other chick wearing the same exact look as you. Kat kind of had the same moment this past weekend at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards. If time travel was real or possible we could of boarded a machine and went back to the year 2003 and find Queen Bey wearing the same DG dress! Beyonce wore the sexy number for the recording of a show at Dave Letterman. Actually, that far back Bey wasn’t even Queen Bey and even more so Mr. Letterman isn’t even on TV anymore; so most likely, some may be reading this like who in the world is Dave?! Yeah, girls that’s just how far back we just went.

Let’s move things back forward then, shall we? We think both ladies definitely had the physiques to pull off the Dolce and Gabbana gown, however, we think Kat’s overall ensemble was put together a tad better. Instead of black accessories like Bey, Kat went for more neutral designs. Graham polished off her 2016 MTV Movie Awards look with Casadeio sandals, jewelry from Sethi couture, Levian and Rachel Katz as well as an Oroton clutch. For this particular dress we prefer less is more, but let’s still give credit where credit is due dolls. Beyonce still was setting the trends back in the day that would still be just as posh today.

Black Beautiful Women: Naomi Campbell Book Release

Black beauty was certainly beheld tonight at the Naomi Campbell book release celebration! Campbell’s book, Naomi, is a compilation of the supermodel’s outstanding career in the modeling industry. It is a hybrid two volume edition that tells of Naomi’s beginnings as well as showcases her entire exquisite modeling port.

The fashion elite as well as entertainment’s movers and shakers were all in attendance. Guest included celebrity stylist June Ambrose, CNN anchor Don Lemon, PR extraordinaire Randy Bowden Jr., Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour, Designer Marc Jacobs, Taschen CEO Benedikt Taschen and models the Hilton sisters and Bella Hadid. For the fabulous affair Naomi Campbell dazzled onlookers in a custom made design by Marc Jacobs.

Why should the Naomi Campbell book release mean so much to us black girls? Contemplating on what Naomi has been able to accomplish for three decades is something to marvel. Campbell began her career during a time when black models were barely seen on covers much less a catwalk. Yet, she rose to be an iconic supermodel of the 80s. She helped pave the way for more diversity as well as opportunities for black girls wishing to be apart of an industry that’s standard of beauty did not always include those of a darker shade.

Naomi rose to success not because of her skin tone, but because she possessed the talent, drive and finesse to make it happen. For every shoot, appearance and show she always presented herself at the highest level possible. She is a strong example that confidence, determination and a well-developed skillset can propel an individual to greatness.

What is more Naomi Campbell is still championing the success of black models and encouraging the industry to continue to diversify. Now with the release of her new book Naomi we all get a chance to turnaround and champion her and recognize her for her achievements. The Naomi Campbell book release honored the legacy of a woman that literally helped change the face of the fashion, modeling, and beauty industries forever. Thank you Naomi for being a gorgeous shining example and congratulations on your new release!

Now this gorgeous lady can ring our bell any day! Orange is the New Black actress, Vicky Jeudy, is always a head turner, but we recently spotted a beauty look by Jeudy that made us want to head straight to a makeup counter. Her glittering look is fun for spring and is so perfect for such a shining star.

Vicky Jeudy recently rocked a bold lid with golden details. Her gold eye makeup was matched seamlessly with her metallic ensemble. Creating a matchy-matchy makeup look can sometimes result in a less than stellar outcome. In makeup at times too much of a good thing could turn bad. However, since the focus remained just on her eyes and the rest of her makeup was kept quite natural the matching element of the look did not overpower. Besides, the gorgeous gold we also loved her full lashes and strong eyebrows.

Why should you give gold eyeshadow a try this season? Gold is a color that describes a woman who chooses to indulge in luxury and glamour. It is a tint that denotes wealth, passion, grandeur, courage, glitz, love, wealth, compassion as well as illumination. The show may be officially over but the hair trends shall continue to rock! We hope that all of you ladies are feeling more confident and beautiful in your melanin skin. We loved the camaraderie seen not only during the Black Girls Rock 2016 show presentation but as well as behind the scenes.
