We have talked a lot about the use of natural products when it comes to skin as well as haircare. There is a reason why our grannies used shea butter and passed the torch and beauty tip down to us. Shea butter is an all natural product that comes with numerous benefits.

Shea Butter has natural antibacterial properties that make it great for preventing stretch marks, wound healing and it can also be used as an anti-aging treatment for skin. With so many products on the market right now that are chalk full of chemicals that can irritate our skin, shea butter is a refreshing alternative. Nevertheless, do not just think that this jewel of nature can only do wonders for your skin. Shea butter also can work its magic on your hair, but we’ll discuss more on that in a future post.

Shine your pearly whites on up by applying a little baking soda right on your toothbrush and then brush your teeth like normal. Doing so will help whiten your teeth restoring them back to their old glamorous look.

One of our favorite models of all time is giving mad “face” for the spring/summer 2015 L’Oreal Paris Infallible collection ad campaign. Recently, Liya Kebede was named Global Brand Ambassador for L’Oreal cosmetics, skincare, and haircare lines. Moreover, solidifying her rank in the fashion, beauty and entertainment industries, Forbes named her one of the top fifteen highest earning models.

The ad campaign showcases L’Oreal’s long-lasting foundation that is said to last 24 hours. Liya’s gorgeous look for the campaign was brought together by hairstylist Stephane Lancien and MUA Charlotte Willer. The ad was lensed by celebrity, beauty and fashion photographer Kenneth Willardt.

Can Senait Gidey get anymore beautiful?! Apparently, the answer is yes… Gidey is featured this month in a beauty editorial for ELLE Canada. Senait does not roll solo in the spread she is joined by model Dauphine. The jaw-dropping makeup was handled by MUA Lloyd Simmonds and photographer Owen Bruce lensed the shoot. The editorial increases the drama going from a natural face to bold eye color and even a smoking dark lip.

Beauty Quickie: Mascara should only be found on your eyelashes but it always seems to find its way elsewhere i.e. on eyelids and the under eye area. Prevent this by making sure your mascara is set and dry. Set mascara by using the cool setting on your hair dryer and give lashes a quick blast of air.

DIY Eco-Friendly Hair Gel

Natural sistas from around the world, rejoice because your hair gel deliverance is at hand! In recent years there as been a major movement and shift in haircare as more and more women opt for all natural products for their tresses. Women have learned of all the harmful ingredients that can be found in various products such as hair gel and want better products that will not cause as much harm to their strands.

Now there is an eco-friendly option available to make your own hair gel in the comfort of your own home. All you will need is two ingredients:

One cup of warm water
One teaspoon of unflavored gelatin

How to Make the Gel:

Combine the gelatin and warm water in a container and then refrigerate the mixture for half an hour. Once time is up you will have an eco-friendly hair gel that works just like the store bought versions.
