Natural body scrubs are a great way to get smooth, glowing skin right in time for summer. However, various salts or sugars are coarser in texture than others and can feel a bit too rough. Depending on your skin using very coarse materials or elements may not be necessary in order to slough off a particular area’s dry or dead skin.
For instance, raw sugar is coarser than brown sugar and tends to need more oil added to the scrub to prevent a shredding feel. Body scrubs should never feel as though they are doing more damage than good. Moreover, if your homemade scrub is feeling a tad bit rough on your skin you can also consider mixing in honey to add moisture.
“Music to me is so internal. It’s physical and it’s emotional. Whereas fashion is so much about the external that it’s almost like a break. It’s not inner turmoil. It’s total escapism.”
-Florence Welch

Sleek, low ponytails are an easy and trendy hairstyle to look great during the summer heat. Attain the super slick back look with the help of a pomade or edge control product. Nevertheless, ponytails can also do a number on your strands if you do not take proper precautions? How can you protect your hair while sporting this hair trend?
When tying your hair back their are two things you can do to help prevent or minimize the possibility of breakage:
1. Always use elastics that are covered with cotton or silk materials. Elastics made from rubber, plastic or metals can snap hair.
2. Before fashioning your hair into a ponytail first spritz hair with a light silicone spray to encourage strands to glide against the hair ties which will in turn prevent splitting.
Designer Christopher Kane has teamed up this year with Nars to create a collection to help women achieve the runway beauty look that his models are known for… the bare face. The collaboration with Nars is said to include color, well Christopher Kane’s version of color which is subtle and simple. Such simplicity of makeup ensures that the natural beauty of women is clearly seen and not masked by layers of cosmetics and tints. Christopher Kane says,
Look like the queen of the beach by incorporating the season’s hottest shades! What colors will have you looking like a Mer-Goddess while lounging in your beach chair? Don’t go near an ocean without wearing purple, turquoise or hot pink. These three tints are the trending eye shadow colors perfect for any day beach trip.
Mara Hoffman showed us all how to do summer hair and beauty right! Model’s tresses were big and voluminous due to stunning chic waves. Moreover, in the beauty department makeup was kept rather clean and simple with the focus mainly on the eyes. Lashes were curled and exaggerated thanks to Stila Mile High Lashes Mascara. Peepers also received a slight pop of color via eyeliner, the Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Emerald. A bit of bronzer was used over foundation to make skin glow and then the look was completed with a peach lip stain.

Forget the whole beauty notion that summer makeup can’t include darker shades of color or can’t showcase some extra drama. Yes, the lighter beauty colors normally made available during the spring and summer seasons can be fun to play with, however, that does not mean you must leave out darker shades from your makeup looks. Dark lips are definitely in and even during spring/summer runway shows dramatic cat-eye makeup was all the rage. Modernize the look by allowing your upper eyelid line to float instead of traditionally just framing or following the lash line. During the Atelier Versace runway show model’s cat-eye makeup included liner being drawn along the crease.
