When you thought you could not wait ANY longer. Normani finally hits us all with the announcement… that THE Normani Motivation single will be finally dropping this very here month! Fans, colleagues of melanin and fellow lovers of good music please save the date. All the fire and newness shall hit our ears on August 16th!

Yet, that is not all! There is a pretty cool surprise that comes along with this release. AND it all went down behind the scenes… sort of. Read on to find out.

Normani Motivation Dropping 8.16 -Save the Date Y’all!

Why Normani, just why (LOL)? Why has it taken till August for this?! Like many others, we love this girl’s high energy performances and music; but sometimes it feels like we are playing the waiting game. However, she heard her fans pleas; and is putting us out of our music misery this summer and giving us something new to listen to.

Now as we all know the wait most likely is do the fact that Normani has just been seriously busy. This year, the singer basically has been on tour with music bestie, Ariana Grande. This is where it gets interesting!

Did you know that Normani’s new song Motivation has a very high profile co-writer? SAY WHAT?! Yes, word on the not so quiet street is that Motivation is also penned by the queen of the ponytail herself, Ariana Grande!

With Grande giving us plenty of 2019 heat and Thank You Next memes; we can be confident that Motivation is going to be just as major. Music journal, Rolling Stone confirmed the news from the former Fifth Harmony member. Here’s excerpt from that exclusive with Normani talking away about Ariana and her coming aboard Motivation! She says,

“She’s been very supportive of me too. I talk to her about the creative process. ‘I’m like, ‘When did you know your album was done?’ She was just like, ‘Honestly, you’ll know. Nobody will have to tell you. You’ll feel it. Just trust your instinct; trust your gut. And listen to that voice inside you; and it’ll tell you that you’re done. Just take your time, too, and have fun in the process and make sure that it’s something that you love.’

She’s dope. She also has a part in the record that I’m releasing, too. She wrote on it.”

We love this duo, so the fact that they decided to team up on a song; is just everything. From road mates to song mates, it’s awesome to see two awesome artists come together to make magic in the studio.

Motivation -The Single

This new release by Normani is BIG. It marks the beginning of an era for the budding solo artist. No not a collab, but just the stylings of Normani. Due to this many fans have been wondering what kind of sound to expect.

Normani wants one and all to know it will not be like what they are used to. For instance, the singer’s smash with Sam Smith, Dancing with a Stranger, had a very “dark”… moody, yet melodic vibe to it. Yet, Motivation will not follow in the same footsteps.

Expect high energy, Normani wants you to get up and dance! In a recent interview Normani reveals,

“I recorded this song a while back. And it’s crazy because, I’ll be on Twitter; and fans will be like, ‘Sis, where’s the new music? Where’s the new music?’ I’m like, ‘Guys, it’s coming, promise it’s coming.’

I shot the video probably a month ago. It’s going to be worth the wait… It’s an upbeat [song]. It [is] a feel good song record. I think that everybody will really love it. It was the first opportunity that I had to have fun.

I think that people have been waiting for me to have fun and I’ve had so many records like ‘Waves’ and ‘Love Lies’ and Sam Smith’s ‘Dancing With a Stranger;’ which are a little bit more R&B smooth sailing.”

Our Take on Motivation

Smart move young lady. If Normani was just another studio slash ballad singer; then fine, a slower chrooner song would of been lit. HOWEVER, that is not the case here. Normani is 23. She is a 23 year old performer; scratch that, she is an entertainer honey!

Heck, for some time now Normani has even been compared to the queen herself, Beyoncé. A comparison that usually spells death to the career of any female attempting to make the claim. Nevertheless, Normani bypasses all beyhive hate and is continuously gaining more fans and respect.

With that being said, a fast paced song is totally the way to go here. Since people like to move, people like shake; they like to get there like the sidewalk is a club!

Furthermore, this will also highlight Normani’s range. Yes, she can bring tears to our eyes with her hauntingly beautiful vocals on a R&B track. But she can also make us dip in the knees and shake what our mamas may or may not have blessed us with (lol).

We love that Normani is deciding to show the world that she is the next big thing. She can sing. She can dance. Plus, she can put together an album that excites the masses. Something that seems to really be missing in the industry as of late.

Winning and Moving On Up

New song, new video, who dis? While the countdown may be on for Motivation. That does not mean that Normani still is not out here making waves. The girl is steadily collecting major hardware!

All of this new music news comes on the heels of the 2019 Teen Choice Awards. Normani won big taking home 2 awards. What did she win for? Normani won under the categories of: Choice R&B Hip/Hop Artist as well as Choice Pop Song.

The girl is simply on fire this year and we can’t wait to see what else she has up her sleeves. Congrats on the awards and the new single Normani!

Put some gymnastics respect on her name! Simone Biles continues to up the bar (or shall we say beam, wink); and prove why she is truly the “G.O.A.T” in competition history! Even with tons of Olympic gold hardware under her belt; Simone seems to be only getting BETTER. Therefore, what is her newest and latest milestone? Simone Biles is First Gymnast to Land Double-Double Dismount … EVER!

Simone Biles is First Gymnast to Land Double-Double Dismount

She didn’t just land it. You guys, she smashed it! In a display of sheer power, elegance and fluidity; Biles seamlessly stuck the first double double dismount in gymnastics history off the balance beam with ease.

This type of dismount is no small potatoes either. It sounds and is as technical as it’s very name. This new Simone double-double landing involves twists as well as somersaults. When dismounting, a gymnast has to complete two twists and two somersaults all before connecting with the ground in order to get it right. And oh yeah… not hop all around or fall over so that you don’t stick the landing!

In her performance, this past Friday at the 2019 U.S. Gymnastics Championships; Biles made it look like she was just walking through the park. NBC Sports caught all the sweet action and tweeted out not just the now historic dismount; but Simone’s entire performance. It’s intense! Simone Biles is First Gymnast to Land Double-Double Dismount – The Motivation

Amazing right?! Simone is certainly in a class of her very own. Nonetheless, never heard of a double-double dismount on the beam before now? Well, it’s because no one else is out there trying to do it. Biles is the type of competitor and gymnastics pioneer who doesn’t like to rest on her laurels.

Biles to us, reminds us of the great snowboarding king, Shaun White. White is arguably the best to ever do it; standing tall with the most X Games wins and Olympic gold medals for a snowboarder and 10 ESPY Awards (BOOM lol). Yeah, he completely revolutionized his sport as well; AND even after becoming an Olympic gold medal winner (like Biles); STILL wanted to do cooler, bigger and riskier moves down the half pipe.

And he did it. Back in the good winter of 2018. Shaun put down one of the most scariest, insane tricks ever. The boy took it to the edge, walked the fine line and went home with the big “W”… again. When it all was said and done; you realized White did it because of his INTENSE love of the sport; as well as his major determination to get back and be at the top.

Simone is the same type of amazing, mentally strong, go-getter athlete. She loves, enjoys and lavishes in the chance to be able to not only push her sport; but HERSELF forward. In a recent interview, Biles states that she aims to be the very best. Sloppiness as well as a mistake here and there is not what she likes to tolerate.

As a result, being the absolute best in her mind and realm; means giving a perfect performance each and every time. In statement regarding such results Bile says,

“As soon as I fell on floor, I was like, ‘That’s it. I’m scratching the meet. I’m walking off the floor. But I’m happy with the way I ended the meet.

“I feel like I compete for perfection… whenever I don’t do that, it really irritates me.”

Why She’s The GOAT Baby!

Nevertheless, it’s that kind of thought process and work ethic that makes Simone Biles unbeatable. The girl has no quit. Being the best to her is not getting out there and playing it safe. She goes out there with confidence and a big bag of awesome kick butt tricks.

Don’t believe us? Well, believe her resume. In America’s history, Biles is one of the most decorated champions the sport has ever seen. According to Wikipedia Biles,

“Having won a combined total of twenty-five Olympic and World Championship medals, Biles is the most decorated American gymnast. Biles became the sixth woman to win an individual all-around title at both the World Championships and the Olympic Games.”

You simply don’t win that much without being daring and brave. Moreover, while we all certainly marvel over Simone’s nail-biting double-double dismount. That isn’t the only historic move Simone decided to try.

This national championships, Biles became the first woman to attempt a triple-double — which is two flips and three twists in the air — in competition during the floor exercise. Unfortunately, Simone couldn’t quite get it there, but it was close! The gymnast just missed the landing, falling forward. However, the fact that this 4’4 powerhouse came to compete with not just one; but TWO unseen moves is still a testament to her level of greatness.

The Great Says She’s the Greatest

Furthermore, Simone Biles is also making fans out the greats themselves. For instance, start with “America’s Sweetheart,” Mary Lou Retton.

Mary Lou, is the 1984 women’s gymnastics champion nicknamed “America’s Sweetheart” after she became the first U.S. woman to win the individual all-around Olympic gold medal. When talks and debates of best gymnasts begin; she is often considered the greatest American gymnast of all time. However, interestingly she says Simone Biles is better.

In an interview with People magazine, Mary Lou got quite candid about how gymnastics has evolved since her era; as well as why Simone is top dog. Retton states,

“I say it over and over again. She is the greatest gymnast ever, I really do think that.

We have a running joke that she’s so strong she should have to compete with the men. She’s that strong.

[Simone’s] a special athlete, very unique with a God-given talent that you don’t teach. Her coach, Aimee, is great in improving upon that, but it’s something that she was born with. She’s just the best gymnast I’ve ever seen in my life and I think a lot of us as athletes and even Olympic champions say the same thing.

Back in my generation, it was slender, pixie, little gymnasts with the pony tails and bows; and in walked me in Los Angeles with short hair and this big athletic body with thunder thighs. That’s what they used to call me – and the sport had never seen anybody like me. Fast forward to now… and the women look like I did. You have to be strong since the sport has evolved. It’s so exciting to watch.

[Furthermore] It’s so difficult. I say to myself every four years, ‘This is it, we’re at the limit. We can’t do anything more difficult.’ And then walks in Simone Biles and she just blows your mind.”

Simone Biles, a Beautiful Legacy

Same. Retton we all feel the exact same. Biles’ dynamic performances are always entertaining, heart-pounding and dare we say, down right iconic. When you watch her, you know you are watching history.

When comes to this year’s championships we may just hear a little more “her-story” in just a few hours. This is because Simone Biles is currently leading at the two-day competition. Biles is the favorite and is expected to win her sixth US title on Sunday. According to CNN, this will be no ordinary feat. No woman has won 6 titles since Clara Schroth Lomady in 1952. So keep an eye on those gymnastics history books one more time!

To sum all of this up we are reminded of a Nike ad campaign starring Simone Biles. In the ad you see her flying gracefully through the air in one of her signature; gravity defying moves. The caption? It reads, “Do things history could only dream of.” Mission accomplished Simone, and congrats.

Some people snatch our edges; but Rihanna snatches our eyebrows clear OFF! Yes, the next generation of Fenty Beauty is moving into the brow shaping and defining products arena.

Okay guys, so here’s what we know. While no official imagery, visuals or announcements have been made; the smoking gun came from Rihanna herself. In Vegas, at the Sephora’s Store Leadership Conference; Badgalriri had this to say,

“I was not gonna come all the way to Vegas empty handed. So we’re gonna give you guys an exclusive sneak peek of one of the next products coming out—the very next product coming out.”

For the last several years brows have become BIG business, seeing a major influx of brow creation products hitting the market. Especially, for those who like the permanent brow makeup look (think very separated, defined, microblading finish). Nevertheless, Rihanna is continuing to follow her usual success formula when it comes to her amazing cosmetics; which is: Ensure everyone is covered. How will she accomplish this with her new brow items?

Fenty Beauty Ultra Fine Brow Pencil & Styler -Brows Will Be Savage

For one thing, there will be plenty of shade options. In terms of eyebrow pencils this is HUMONGOUS news. Usually, with many brands there are only 4-5 MAIN eyebrow tones that can be purchased. We’re sure you have noticed the shortage of colors too in your makeup search.

Furthermore, small color range shouldn’t really surprise anyone. Literally, it is the same problem that went on for decades when it came to Foundation. Not every color, or selection fit everyone. Your choices were go ashy, bare face/natural or mix different ones up in your bathroom like a mad scientist. Bleak.

There is soooo much new beauty on the way it is making our makeup bags zipper refuse to close! With Rihanna releasing a new hydrating foundation, Milk Makeup giving us a flexing foundation stick; AND Anastasia Beverly Hills Luminous Foundation hitting the scene; makeup lovers are definitely living their best life! But hold up, wait a minute, Isabella is about to step up in it! Yes, loves Zoe Kravitz is about to drop the spanking new YSL Beauty x Zoe Collection in just a few weeks.

How our girl held this secret this entire time, we do not know. However, the secret is officially out the garden and we are only too glad to help spread it. In a VERY short (and we do mean short) video; Zoe teased fans with the collection.

The video did not reveal any products (for maybe the exception of one; read on to find out). So exact products to be expected is still unfortunately mainly up in the air. HOWEVER, the visuals did show Kravitz in a lab “cooking up” some newness.

Therefore, while there is no real product item reveals; there is a firm confirmation that the collection is not a figment of beauty imagination. It is happening and coins need to be spared and ready.

YSL Beauty x Zoe Collection-Kravitz is Entering the Beauty Industry

This match up between the luxury brand and Zoe Kravitz comes as no surprise. For quite some time the Big Little Lies actress and singer has been the face of the label. Appearing in numerous ad campaigns as well as on and in magazines wearing various YSL designs. Even for the Met Gala’s yearly soirée; arguably fashion’s biggest night; Kravitz has donned a Saint Laurent design.
