Editors Alicia and Arianne Attend DVF Season Finale Screening
We had an amazing night cheering on our favorite cast member for this season’s search for who will be the global ambassador for Diane von Furstenberg. Brittany Hampton ultimately took home the win and admittedthat it was a hard secret to keep due to being apart of a large family. Hampton looks forward to her new role and fitting in with the Furstenberg brand family. Our fashions for the night included jumpsuits, sleek hair and heels.
Alicia toted her things with handbag by Lauren Blakwell.
Arianne accessorized her jumpsuit with a navy blue bag by Kenneth Cole Reaction.
Congratulations Brittany Hampton DVF Season Finale Winner
Congratulations to the gorgeous Brittany Hampton on becoming DVF’s new global brand ambassador! Brittany will travel the world to bring a younger influence to the iconic fashion brand. Diane mentioned that Brittany had made a good first impression and had to draw back in order to not show bias. However, Hampton’s skill set as well as drive put her over the top of the other candidates and competition.

Fashionable Mention: KTZ Fall-Winter 2014/2015 Menswear Collection
Designer Marjan Pejoski has probably one of the freshest views when it comes to menswear for the winter season. His monochromatic graffiti couture was inspired by his obsession with India. From the Himalayas to the HIndu spirtiual background of the region’s culture, Pejoski used every aspect to breathe ingenuity into his designs. The overall styling was also enhanced by the models faces being covered in “ash” in order to resemble black and white photographs. It’s always nice to see creativity and out of the box thinking in fashion so this collection is definitely worthy of a fashionable mention.
Streetstyle: Hood and Snapback Combo
It is cold outside even here in normally sunny southern California. Keeping warm and staying in style can be a challenge especially when all you want to do is bundle and wrap up like a burrito. Nevertheless, we remember some cool layering by Angel Haze when she attended the menswear Givenchy fashion show in Paris, France. Angel didn’t just wear a hat, but she then added a hoodie on top. The backwards hat will always be cool in our book and layering on an outerwear piece with a hood just seals the urban fashion deal.
What do you think of Angel Haze’s streetstyle look? Would you wear it? Tweet us your thoughts and join the discussion on Twitter @1966magazine
Joan Smalls Fierce Editorial for Vogue Japan December 2014
Supermodel Joan Smalls slays whether in front of a camera and lights or stomping down a runway. This month Joan shows that her modeling skills are no small potatoes by posing to the death for an editorial for Vogue Japan. Smalls is slinging snowboards as well as pink, red and blue braided ponytails all while in fringe knee-high boots, fur as well as leopard print attire.
We have said it once and will continue to preach how wonderful it is to see color being utilized in fashion during winter. Of course the usual couture forecast during this season involves darker, drab shades so it is refreshing to see vibrancy in this editorial. Take notes and remember just because it’s cloudy and dark outside doesn’t mean it has to take all the fun out of your personal style. Be bold, be you and always have fun.
En Noir Fall-Winter 2014-2015
If you are following our wave length today we are showcasing mens couture that caught our eye so that you can Get Your Man Right all this season. The En Noir Fall-Winter 2014-2015 collection had some of the most striking jackets for men. A great jacket can easily pull together an ensemble so even if your special guy doesn’t really care for fashion, throw him in a well designed coat, shirt and pants then he is set. We thought En Noir’s paneled jacket was just too fab and you can NEVER go wrong with leather whether male or female. The entire collection was modern, trendy and proved minimalistic style can be wait for it…legendary!
The Pose: Is this male model not serving?! We just had to point out that we loved his cute little smirk 🙂
Ami Fall-Winter 2014-2015 Menswear
Ladies and gentlemen, now he looks like one very bad man! Hands down we absolutely love to see men in long coats during winter. Long coats give off an effortless cool factor like a guy is coming from the Matrix or saving the world with Nick Fury. This coat from the Ami Fall-Winter 2014-2015 Menswear collection is a well-tailored piece conveying strength and sophistication. Therefore, be a honorary personal stylist and buy the men in your life a long coat this season.
Fashionable Mention: Dolce & Gabbana Menswear F/W 2014 Collection
Off with his fine fashion head! Okay, we retract that ruling only because of what these male models were adorned with for the Dolce & Gabbana Menswear Fall/Winter 2014 show. The fashions and accessories were medieval inspired channeling the Norman Kingdom of Sicily. We were especially blown away by the intricately designed accessories from gloves to shoes. We would love to get our paws on a pair of those jewel encrusted hand gloves that we believe is fit for any king OR queen.
