LAIS RIBEIRO New Editorial Elle Italia. The darkside of swimwear. Lais is rocking the black on the beach and she is looking amazing. As we all know wearing black is slimming so we are all about this trend.
Ah…the good ol’ red carpet… the place where fashion dreams and moments go to live and sometimes die fatally. This year among the ladies black seemed to be a common theme and denominator. Also, playing into the equation was skin… cut-out dresses, mid-riff tops and plunging necklines all did their part to showcase some sex appeal. Who was your favorite dressed celebrity of the night? Don’t forget to let us know!

Fashion colors worn during the spring and summer seasons tend to be more boisterous and vibrant than other times of the year. If you want to get in on the color trend when it comes to shoes look no further than Nicholas Kirkwood’s collection for spring/summer 2015. Not only are the tints of the heels bold but they have a ginormous 3-tiered bow on the back. Between the pointed toe and a little bit of peek-a-boo in the front your feet are bound to look and feel like a princess.
Beginning this week on the 1966 Magazine youtube channel (be sure to follow us 😉 you’ll love it) we will be rolling out videos ranging from fashion to travel. Being obsessed with dressing up our two buddies downstairs that we walk on daily, one such video series P.O.V. aka Point of View will showcase some of our favorite heels from our very own closets. Until you get to see those here is a fashionable mention to tie you over!
For their summer collection Saint Laurent is rolling out strong in the shoe scene with platform heels. We constantly rave on here about platforms because unlike other heel styles, platforms are very comfortable. They may be higher than a skyscraper but the fear stops there, you gain the height without out all the pain fright. Saint Laurent freshened up the platform look with 3-D embellishments such as bows, stars, studs as well as prints and saucy color.

“I like things that are hand made- but personally for a man, I’m not interested in fashion that evolves with time. I like things to be the same. For a woman I think it’s fantastic to have things that are different- it’s like a flower where every season there’s some new exotic bloom.”

Living in California we are accustomed to the coast and love everything about the sand as well as sea. The breeze, the calming sound of waves crashing, vitamin D from the sunny one high in the sky and oh yeah… the fashion! Beach wear and just summer couture in general is all about fun and good vibes. What you wear for such moments will most likely be encapsulated by photographs soon to hit a social media platform near you. Therefore, gain a little vital inspiration from the High Times editorial featuring the stunning Lais Ribiero. Photography for the beauty’s editorial was lensed by Enrique Badulescu.

Lupita Nyong’o at the 68th Annual Cannes Film Festival wearing Gucci. If this is any indication of what to except for Cannes in terms of fashion. It’s going to be a busy week. Stay tuned.
