However, before Jennifer Lopez took the stage for the 2019 Grammys Motown Tribute; we were there to find out how the stars feel deep down in general about the tribute. Why is such honoring important? Also, how did the Motown era really change the face of the entire music industry?

We set out on our mission to talk to the likes of the iconic Smoky Robinson, Shelia E., Eric Benet and CeeLo Green; among others to really get the skinny on what this tribute immensely signifies to the community and really, the world.

As one can see, Motown was THE record label to break black artists and musicians into the “mainstream” arena. Their glamour, image and unforgettable songs influenced numerous acts; from all genres even right down to this day.

While most are not thrilled with how the 2019 Grammys Motown tribute was put together. One thing is for certain… Motown should of BEEN recognized and honored for its impact on the music industry and it will never be forgotten by this world. Ever.

“Supreme. For our second March subscriber cover, IMAN wore this t-shirt as an homage to her stature as an unrivaled deity of the modeling world; a trailblazing cosmetics entrepreneur; and a long-standing advocate for women. (Although it was her idea for it to be wet!).

Her career has spanned four decades. And although she retired from the runways in 1989; she continues to outpace some of her youngest peers both in relevancy and ad pages. Most recently doing campaigns for Valentino and Balmain.

‘My plan is just loose. It’s kind of weird, because I’ve worked all my life, from when I was 14 years old… I’ve stumbled into things; or things found me. So now I’m at a stage where i’ll just see what happens.’

So (on the set) I said, jokingly, ‘Why don’t we get it wet?’ And as I said it, everybody said, ‘Yeah!’ I was like, “F&%&, now I have to deliver.'”

Modelland will awaken your childlike glee by entertaining; and educating in unexpected ways that will make learning about oneself fierce and fun.

Expect Modelland later this year; so far we are seeing that it will be “late” 2019.
