Ever seen the twinkling skyline of a city during twilight hours? It is nothing short of majestic and can instantly take your breath away. As the light orange, golden light delicately hits the reflective windows of skyscrapers and intermittent buildings; a glamorous display of industrial beauty begins to shine forth. It’s this backdrop that must of had a profound effect on the David Koma AW20 collection. Which included a dazzling array of garments that encompasses structural tailoring and mesmerizing embellishments!

The David Koma Autumn/ Winter 2020 runway show reminds us of serious New York City skyline vibes. If you have ever seen the sun set there you already know it is an enchanting experience. NYC is a seductive place in itself. Beyond its “rough” exterior; it shines up well due to its architectural makeup.

The Chrysler Building, Empire State Building and numerous bridges all play a part in giving the city a definitive edge. Nevertheless, Koma’s collection could be based on any major city throughout the world. Each one’s iconic skylines are all capable of having the same luxurious appeal.

But the truth is, Koma stuck to the brand’s roots. The show was held in London at the Leadenhall Building. A world class building that sits in the very heart of London. Like New York, London’s scene is just as attractively eye-catching.

It is easy to see why this U.K. city serves as such inspiration in terms of fashion. Whether day or night, London has an energy that can go from punk to posh in a blink of the eye.

Furthermore, the David Koma runway show effectively captured the beauty that is found in the architectural design of London. The Autumn/ Winter 2020 collection accomplished this with designs by imitating the construction of buildings.

Also, we loved the play on the gleaming aspect of a city. Models walked the catwalk in garments FULL of crystals and bling. Mimicking glistening windows and the light up display of the city lights at night. David Koma sent a gorgeous display of sparkling designs that would make the stars in the sky jealous!

Simply put it is a beautiful, edgy and glam collection. A nice modern and fresh breath of creative air. It’s great to see designers stretch themselves and what inspires them.

Maison Valentino Pre-Fall 2019 Fashion Show- See the Looks!

Falling roses, gorgeous models and deliciously vogue designs; elegantly make up the Maison Valentino Pre-Fall 2019 Fashion Show! The runway spectacular was presented in Tokyo, Japan at the infamous Warehouse TERRADA. A venue that nonstop holds galleries, markets as well as events in order to help support, as well as spread art and culture.

Our favorite pieces? Can’t say that one stood out among all the others; however, the color palette is beautiful! Red gowns (a signature color for Valentino) as far as the eye could see. Also, strong use of denim and two tone clothing.

Furthermore, one look that was super cute to us is an all-sweater ensemble. Actually, it is more so of a “cape” over a dress, but adorbs nonetheless. It is a cozy looking, woven masterpiece that stretches all the way down to the knees. With a stylish pair of boots you will easily and effortlessly look chic.

Other than a pretty cream, florals and sophisticated black looks complete the collection. Black tone clothing is great because the hue is timeless. Looks great on everyone and never really goes out of style or “trend.” Thus, making any black outfit pretty classic.

Maison Valentino Pre-Fall 2019 Fashion Show

Creative Director, Pierpalo Piccioli definitely put on quite the show. Regarding his presentation the humble designer simply stated via social, “Thank you everyone who made this dream come true. You know who you are.”

Nevertheless, the brand itself had a few more words on the subject. In regards to the highly anticipated show and its designs; the couture label explains it as,

“A dialogue between perfection and imperfection, permanence and caducity. Two ideas of beauty are compared: one strives for balance, symmetry, harmony; the other is asymmetrical, and favors what is impermanent.

Distant elements meet and merge in the interval that separates them; showing the gesture of clashing opposites instead of hiding it. The iconography of the Maison – the ruffles, the lace, the grace; and then the flowers, the colors, the motifs – is interpreted in a wabi sabi key.

Volumes are purified, ruffles are crushed, pleats are misaligned. Valentino Pre-Fall 2019 by Pierpalo Piccioli.”

What about the men? Well, still plenty of couture looks to love. The color scheme for the show was incorporated into all of the mens’ fashion too. We loved all of the long coats and relaxed suits. Relaxed we say? Yup, peep the untucked shirts. Ingenious Piccioli!

Tonight Victoria’s Secret heralded, “Are You Not Entertained??!” Long legs, big wings and of course the hardest struts pounded the catwalk for what is known as “the sexiest night of television.” The 2018 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show this year is full of glamour, glitz and mesmerizing angelic flair!

We are recapping it ALL. From backstage, the runway and even the pink carpet we have everything you want to see. So come on let’s get our annual pink party started, smooches! We will not keep you in agony this year. Last year, we decided to save the runway for last, but y’all requested that we flip the script. So without further adieu, here are some of the must-see looks of the show!

Whew! That’s a lot of fab looks! We loved the incorporation of stripes, feathers, metallics and even school girl chic plaid. But are you ready for more? Yeah, we thought so… here comes round number two:

What other cool feature is in this year’s runway show? Well, be on the lookout for another awesome collaboration! In the past, Vickie has teamed up with stylish couture labels such as Balmain, this year the lingerie company partners with designer, Mary Katrantzou.

The vibrant and fun collab features intimates, athletic wear, loungewear and even bags. What we love the most is all of the festive florals. It is a fresh breathe of style air that still makes you think VS Pink. If you want to shop the collection mark a calendar to remember that it will be available the day the show officially airs, December 2nd.

BEAUTY NOTES: Want to look like a VS Angel? Well, you can, it is all in the right makeup technique. For Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows the look is all about au natural beauty. Meaning the models’ makeup is applied only to enhance their natural strongpoints and features.

To get the look keep the focus on emphasizing the eyes. Create full brows with complimenting voluminous and lengthy eyelashes. Pronounce eyes even more with a subtle yet dramatic cat-eye. Lastly, add blushed cheeks, a slight glow with a glossy or matte skintone lip and you will be good to go! Got it? Great! Let’s get back to the runway.

Now we have to take a moment to let out a few unicorn thug tears; because this year’s show also marks the 18th and final VSFS for model, Adriana Lima! We know, we know, the passing of the Kleenex will happen in a moment. However, this undeniable SEXY veteran of the Victoria’s Secret family will always be considered one of the best to ever do it.

When the recorded show airs December 2nd, viewers will be able to catch Lima strutting down the catwalk for a number of sets. Just in case you find yourself in a chip or sparkling wine refill situation; look out for Adriana during the Stella and Celestial Angels portions. We are sure you will not want to miss her!

Tonight wasn’t just about the ladies… okay, that’s a lie it was! HOWEVER, that did not stop the men from coming to join the VS party. Hip hop artist Future, singer Shawn Mendez and actor hunk Dylan Sprouse all were spotted hitting the pink carpet.

Speaking of Sprouse, the cutie scored several BF points. His gift of the night for his Vickie angel GF? A bag of burgers from Shake Shack. We stan all boyfriends who stop at nothing to feed us (lol).

Victoria’s Secret 2018 Fantasy Bra- Over 2100 Swarovski Created Diamonds!

Ah, we love the smell of bling in the morning! This past a.m. Vickie S. hit us with the first look of their Victoria’s Secret 2018 Fantasy Bra! One million dollars worth of luxurious jewels and straight sex appeal.

This year’s coveted Bra is a collab between the iconic Swarovski label and intimate apparel giant,Victoria’s Secret. Swarovski who has teamed up with the likes of: Maison Margiela, Christopher Kane, Jean Paul Gaultier as well as Victor & Rolf on jewelry; has produced a creation for the VS 2018 Fashion Show incorporating over 2100 Swarovski diamonds!

Furthermore, this hand-made design also boasts and includes responsibly sourced topaz. Also, you may notice that the Swarovski bra and body chain are set in a sterling silver Dream Angels bra silhouette. Moreover, the stunning center piece has more than 71 carats (yeah, total Rose from Titanic status). In this design’s entirety, it took over a whopping 930 hours to create! Can you say major?

Now… we know one of the reasons you may have decided to check out our post on this is because you know we always are super honest (Lol). With that being said, this year’s Fantasy Bra let us feeling rather… meh. While we are so thrilled for model Elsa Hosk to be the one to rock it down the catwalk. It just seems like this design is a tad bit “lackluster.”

Yes, while 2100 diamonds is nothing in itself to yawn about. This year’s design just seems to be missing the allure of million dollar FB bras from the past. Maybe we have just been super spoiled in the past, but this bra just doesn’t seem to have the typical Victoria’s Secret flair.

However, if you love the style of this year’s Fantasy Bra do not stress because you don’t have a million dollars lying around. VS is offering their hardcore buyers a little cool treat come November 29th. Keep that day in mind (it’s a Thursday BTW) because the VS brand at select stores and online will have a “knock-off” version of the 2018 Fantasy Bra available for purchase.

Yup dolls… Instead of schilling out one million, you’ll be able to plop down $250 for the lookalike version. Pretty cool if you have ever wanted to have a Fantasy Bra of your very own, but be quick because they are already projecting a fast sellout. So then, may the best credit or debit card win!

Beauty icon, Pat McGrath’s wildly popular sparkling rouge lip color found its way back on a catwalk in a triumphant fashion. During the Valentino Spring/Summer 2019 runway show all that glitters proved to be high-end couture gold. The beauty kingdom inhabitants all agree, long live glitter forever!

Pat McGrath aka mother knows a thing or two about creating a divine makeup statement. She has been doing so for decades for the most pristine designers on this earth. Nevertheless, this time around for Valentino it was all about glamour. Bold colors, extreme cat eyes and of course the infamous radiating red pouts. Regarding the look Pat stated,

“Lust worthy lips! [Applied] the iconic Lust 004 on the divine [models] backstage at Pierpaolo Piccoli [for] Maison Valentino. Valentino SS19.”

Lust 004 comes in an awesome lip kit. What’s included? The brand states it’s a, “collection of perverse lip paraphernalia. That features six sinfully pigmented matte lipsticks; clear vinyl gloss; metallic gold pigment and three mesmerizingly microfine glitters.”

Sounds a lot of bang for the buck to us! Now Pat originally released her now cult favorite lusty, magnetic lip kit back in 2016. However, if you are worried about it being off the market or out of stock; have no fear! Mother always thinks ahead and gives the masses exactly what they want.

Paris Fashion Week: Guy Laroche Spring 2019 -Fashion and Makeup Recap

Are you ready to go back? Creative Director Richard Rene, for the Guy Laroche fashion house, took his audience back to the era of 1981; where Charles and Diana get hitched, MTV launches and you could go see Raiders of the Lost Ark or Superman II. You know right where history typically acknowledges that the glamour and excitement typified by the 80’s began. The Guy Laroche Spring 2019 show is not only a nod to 80’s greatness; but an amazing freeze frame view of opulent style from the “decade of excess.”

As a quick reminder or lesson in the French fashion scene. Guy Laroche started his career in the fashion industry in 1949. Due to his talent and vision in just 7 years Guy would create his very own luxury label for womenswear. Even after his death in 1989 the brand continues to dominate in setting the bar high.

Even for the Spring 2019 fashion show respect for the artistry that is Guy Laroche flair can clearly be seen. There were so many lined up and milling around to get into the show, yet it was clearly and utterly apparent that the venue would not be able to hold everyone. Nonetheless, those who made it inside definitely will never forget it.

The “Shadow and Light” show put on by Richard Rene delivered with references of punk, edge, and futuristic vibes. Strong tailoring and fab silhouettes were also apparent. Nevertheless, our favorite element had to be the use of monochromatic tones, a signature of Rene. So uncomplicated and straightforward but still packing a powerful couture punch.

Furthermore, in keeping with the eighties theme and essence, several models of color hit the runway with sculpted flat tops. Think Grace Jones and Bobby Brown and you will instantly get the picture. Seriously, these ladies looked like the epitome of cool. Other styles noted included cornrows, deep side parts, dyed hair color and sleek, slicked back “pompadour” tresses.

Quickly let’s get into the beauty look for the Guy Laroche SS19 fashion show. Normally, one or just a couple looks are given to the models going down a designer’s catwalk. However, Laroche’s show went total glam and beauty excessive.

Makeup extraordinaire, Kabuki, led the charge in creating the signature makeup looks for the show. Regarding the process and beauty variation, Kabuki reveals,

“MAC Cosmetics enabled me to create 15 individualized makeup looks for Guy Laroche this season! [For instance] here I am applying a mix of yellow and white lip-mix.”

Yes, Kabuki created not one, not two, but a total of 15 looks! Enough for two weeks worth of glam daily. Moreover, the show showcased extremely bold color on the eyes, brows and lips; while the rest of the face was kept quite au natural.

Yellow, blue, green and pink all found their way into the mix. Nonetheless, we felt that the makeup served as a nice departure from the collection’s simplistic color palette. Although, black and white will forever be deemed classic and chic tones. A hint of color perfectly pops and marries the two color spectrums together seamlessly. Are you daring enough to give bold color makeup a try? Well, if not makeup, maybe statement accessories will be more your bag. You Asked: Honestly do not care for Cardi B’s music since Bodak Yellow or how she conducted herself at Harper’s Bazaar. But her fashion and stylist are always so good. Who is her stylist by the way and what are the details on this look? Even the hat!

The Verdict: Thank you for your fashionable message and we agree, love her or not, Cardi possesses one of the best couture and style teams on this globe! Cardi’s stylist, Kollin Carter, styled her in a luxurious gown by fashion label, Michael Costello.

The dress is from the brand’s Gitana collection which made it’s glam debut during New York Fashion Week. Currently this look is not available for purchase just yet, however; it is coming to the Michael Costello shop real soon! Fashion lovers will be able to purchase Cardi’s OOTD from www.shopcostello.com.

As for the hat, it is a piece that was made to compliment Cardi’s right off the runway gown. The hat is a custom garment by Michael Costello as well. So far no word if the hat will be available for purchase as well.

Nonetheless, Kollin Carter finished off Cardi’s Paris ensemble with high-end designer shoes. Cardi B is wearing a fab pair of ankle strap platform heels by Elie Saab.

However, Designer Michael Costello has a few words for any bandwagon MC fans or opportunists. Since Cardi’s look hit the fashion scene more and more attention has come to MC. Regarding this he states,

“Funny how [agency] IMG chose to highlight my show right after they saw a major celeb like Cardi B wear my pieces. My show at NYFW was a huge success this season because of my own in-house team.

My show was shown on a billboard in Times Square yet there was not a single mention on IMG’s social platforms including the NYFW Instagram page. I was literally ghost to them.

My show show consistently draws the most number of digital impressions amongst all the designers under their roster; but I guess I was still not good enough for IMG’s models or the selective NYFW clique. People seem to forget that my success is not overnight and that I have built strong relationship with stylists and celebrities for the past 2 decades.

I’ve never PAID for a celebrity to sit in my show or walk in my show or wear me. Everything you’ve seen thus far is God’s plan! If you never supported me or my team in the beginning, don’t start claiming me now. My success belongs to my team… it is not yours to claim.”

Spring beauty may make you think pastels, flushed cheeks, roses and bees. However, for the upcoming new year that could not be farther from the truth! Spring beauty 2019 trends, such as the one spotted at Kith x Versace, are edgier and bolder than ever! For fashion week, designers sent countless designs down the catwalk with makeup incorporating vibrant and dauntless lips, eyes and brows.

So then, say goodbye to playing it safe. It is time to get into more venturesome mood. In order to get you up to speed; for the next several weeks, we will be bringing all of the must-have beauty looks for 2019 straight from the runway! First up, the smokiest eye in all of makeup-land.

Spring Beauty 2019: Kith x Versace Runway Show Smoky Eye

Edgy makeup usually goes hand and hand with edgy couture. Therefore, what is the Kith x Versace like? The Versace label describes it as,

“Kith x Versace… A collection that takes Versace street wear to a new level. Sporty looks were revealed, each revisiting iconic house codes. Greek patterns, Baroque prints and gold jewelry.

The Versace logomania is reinterpreted. The blindfolded Medusa upholds the streetwise Kith aesthetic.”

Sounds legit. However, to get the details on how this look came together, we went to one of the major keys… Maybelline. The cosmetics brand spread the beauty wealth on how the smoky eye and overall style was created using their products. Maybelline reveals,

“We’re feeling this look, keyed by Grace Lee [at] Kith. She created a bold, graphic eye using our lasting drama gel eyeliner in ‘sleek onyx.’ [Then] applied our Fit Me Foundation Matte + Poreless for a flawless face; and swiped on our Super Stay Matte Ink in ‘Poet’ and ‘Driver’ to complete the look.”
