Meghan Markle Guest Edits British Vogue September 2019 Issue!

Meghan Markle Guest Edits British Vogue

HOLD ALLLLL THE PRESSES! Meghan Markle Guest Edits British Vogue September 2019 Issue! The Royal family member worked with the likes of Peter Lindbergh, Grace Coddington; Michelle Obama, Jacinda Ardern and of course, Editor-In-Chief Edward Enninful. All in order to bring one of the biggest issues of the year for any magazine, including British Vogue, to life.

How did this all come about? The Duchess took a chance. After barely meeting Edward, yet still connecting with him over a number of issues. Meghan decided to take a risk and just ask if Enninful would consider as a guest editor.

She sent the text. Not a first…deleted it… but ultimately did. The result? A positive answer from Edward and a guest edition position which would begin in January of 2019. Proving that if you truly want something to happen; sometimes you have to just take a leap. A lesson for us all!

There is SO much going down in this edition of Vogue. The Sussex camp is kind enough to try to break it all down for us. In a statement they reveal,

“We are proud to announce that Her Royal Highness; The Duchess of Sussex is the Guest Editor for the September issue of British Vogue. For the past seven months; The Duchess has curated the content with British Vogue’s Editor-In-Chief Edward Enniful; to create an issue that highlights the power of the collective. They have named the issue: Forces for Change.”

For the cover, The Duchess chose a diverse selection of women from all walks of life. Each driving impact and raising the bar for equality, kindness and justice. The sixteenth space on the cover, a mirror; was included so that when you hold the issue in your hands; you see yourself as part of this collective. The women on the cover include:

  • Adwoa Aboah
  • Adut Akech
  • Somali Boxer
  • Jacinda Ardern
  • Sinead Burke
  • Gemma Chan
  • LaVerne Cox

  • Jane Fonda
  • Salma Hayek
  • Francesca Hayward
  • Jameela Jamil
  • Chimamanda Adichie
  • Yara Shahidi
  • Greta Thunberg
  • Christy Turlington

We are excited to announce that within the issue you’ll find: and exclusive interview between The Duchess and former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama. Equally, you’ll find grassroots organizations and incredible trailblazers; working tirelessly behind the scenes to change the world for the better.”

How All of This Makes The Duchess Feel

As one can see, a lot of effort and work went into putting this issue together. No doubt Meghan exhausted herself to pull this special editon together. Especially, since she was pregnant to Baby Archie Harrison during the process.

Nevertheless, the Duchess of Sussex maintains that the overall process was a very enjoyable one. Regarding her work for British Vogue Meghan states,

“Guest Editing the September issue of British Vogue has been rewarding, educational; and inspiring. To deep dive into this process; working quietly behind the scenes for so many months; I am happy to now be able to share what we have created.

A huge thanks to all of the friends who supported me in this endeavor; lending their time and energy to help within these pages and on the cover. Thank you for say, ‘Yes!’ And to Edward, thank you for this wonderful opportunity.”

8 Black Celebrities Prove Blonde Hair Is Fun

8 Black Celebrities Prove Blonde Hair Is Fun

You have probably heard it time and time again that blondes have more fun. Maybe it is because blonde hair color is a bold tint for black hair or maybe it is just exciting to try out new hair colors. Nevertheless, our favorite celebrities can’t seem to get enough of the golden shade!

We have complied a list of 8 black celebrities to prove our point, but before we get into that we decided to give a little hair advice to help maintain blonde tinted hair. Color treated locks need to be handled gently and with great care in order to protect it from damage. Here are some tips:

  1. Use heat styling tools on a lower heat setting to protect tresses that may be more fragile due to the coloring process.
  2. The lightening/highlighting process is no joke, in-between salon visits treat hair with plenty of conditioning treatments to help strands rebuild from any damage.
  3. Keep blonde color from growing dull by using a clarifying shampoo every few weeks.
  4. Base your hair color on how much money and time you are willing to invest in order to maintain it.
  5. Keep hair strong by using a strengthening spray formulated for color treated hair on a weekly basis.

Now what you have been waiting for, some blonde hair inspiration just in case you are on the fence about taking the blonde plunge.
