IMAN Covers InStyle March 2019 Issue -Fashion’s Unrivaled Empress

How did IMAN come to have such an amazing career in the tough and gruff modeling and fashion industries? Well, the model is discussing just that to InStyle. Regarding the piece and IMAN’s gorgeous visuals, the magazine says,

“Supreme. For our second March subscriber cover, IMAN wore this t-shirt as an homage to her stature as an unrivaled deity of the modeling world; a trailblazing cosmetics entrepreneur; and a long-standing advocate for women. (Although it was her idea for it to be wet!).

Her career has spanned four decades. And although she retired from the runways in 1989; she continues to outpace some of her youngest peers both in relevancy and ad pages. Most recently doing campaigns for Valentino and Balmain.

‘My plan is just loose. It’s kind of weird, because I’ve worked all my life, from when I was 14 years old… I’ve stumbled into things; or things found me. So now I’m at a stage where i’ll just see what happens.’

So really, how did the wet tee shirt thing come about? It’s such a sexy move and InStyle’s Fashion News Director, Eric Wilson had the full scoop! Wilson reveals,

“About that time I had to ask IMAN why she decided to pose in a wet T-shirt for the cover of InStyle. ‘I suggested it,’ she told me. ‘I’m 63 — why would I have a Supreme T-shirt? It’s just a boring T-shirt. It’s too young and too hip.

So (on the set) I said, jokingly, ‘Why don’t we get it wet?’ And as I said it, everybody said, ‘Yeah!’ I was like, “F&%&, now I have to deliver.'”

Sounds action packed! Nevertheless, how is Winnie feeling about her latest cover? Well, the model shares how emphasis was put on natural hair and styling. Harlow reveals,

“I got to shoot this cover with a group of my SUPER TALENTED friends! So much fun and so much talent on set. Thank you Petr Matejcek and ELLE Czech for letting us experiment on this shoot.

Not often do I allow my natural hair to be used for work because I’m about protecting my kinks and curls from damage; (if you knew the struggle). It was amazing to have one of my main hair dressers who specializes in black hair booked to achieve this intricate updo with my natural hair which is such a different look for me!”

Designer and iconic couture visionary, Karl Lagerfield just released imagery showcasing the Chanel Spring/Summer 2019 Pre-Collection. The luxe lineup incorporates numerous trends of the season including: sequins, texture, gold as well as white tone fashions.

Lagerfield having an eye like no other; also took the wheel when it came to the camera lens. Karl took every last shot himself. Furthermore, the stunning visuals are also fronted by a couple of headlining top models in the industry. Adesuwa and Marjan both star in the Chanel Pre-Spring 2019 looks; thus adding their own personal flair and vibe which effortlessly took things to an even higher level.

“The Chanel Spring/Summer 2019 Pre-Collection is now available in boutiques. For this new collection, Karl Lagerfield layers textures in matching tones for a causal twist on the signature codes of the house.

[For instance] signature pearls and a double C motif run through all-white looks from the Chanel Spring/Summer 2019 pre-collection. [Additionally] quilted elements add a note of sportswear to the collection.”

Sounds fancy darlings. Nevertheless, as mentioned the pre-spring line is now in boutiques. If you are waiting on the Chanel Spring 2019 fashions to hit a store front near you; unfortunately, you will have to wait about 8-10 weeks. The spring collection will be available for purchase in March.

The beautiful editorial stars model, Nisaa Pouncey. A talented beauty that is steadily creating a stellar model portfolio for herself. For instance, Nisaa has appeared for brands such as Urban Decay Cosmetics, COACH, Urban Outfitters, NARS as well as Beyonce’s Ivy Park to name a few.
