First off, let’s go ahead and get one thing straight. Hair type is not the same as hair texture. When most ladies talk differences in hair, they are usually referring to various hair textures i.e. kinky.

There are three different hair types. Knowing which category your strands fall under opens you up to knowing exactly what products and choices are best for you. Why is this important? In skincare, using a product for normal skin may not work so well if your skin is truly classified as oily or combination. The same thinking applies with haircare. Many products on the market are specially formulated for various hair types. Picking up the wrong one that does not really fit you may not have a great result.

So then, ask yourself, is your hair thick, medium or fine? Your hair’s follicle determines this for you and of course genetics. Nevertheless, the follicle is the indentation in the scalp that houses the root of a strand. The shape, size and thickness of your follicles determines your hair’s type as well as shape. However, keep in mind that once again like skincare, some can have a combination of all three different hair types on their head.

Well, dolls it looks like another one bites the fashion dust. Bebe stores closing are changing the face of the shopping experience… again. The brand just announced that they are closing the doors to all their stores. The shocking news sent chills down many stylish spines. Especially, since there seems to be a scary growing trend of stores leaving the famous mall scene. What the hanger is going on?

The reign of the mall is quickly losing its dominion. The past couple years has seen the store closing plaque spread faster than a hurricane wind. Many factors have played into this shopping phenomena. Changing markets, out of touch marketing, overpriced items and sustainability are just a few of them.

Nevertheless, this has not prevented ladies from all over the globe from being upset over Bebe stores closing. Even on social platforms girls are speaking up about this situation. Here are a few of their thoughts:

“So sad Bebe is closing.”

“All stores are closing down! Booo.”

“I can’t believe that all stores are going to close.”

Allure’s April issue is absolutely amazing, but then the question can be begged, why create such an journal centered on diversity? What served as their motivation or inspiration behind this issue? Allure explains:

“Our skin is so much more than a reflection in the mirror. Our skin is a metaphor that defines how we are seen and how we see ourselves. For our April 2017 issue (featuring models Dilone, Imaan Hamman and Aamito Lagum on the cover!), [we] asked 41 women of color to tell us the story of their lives through their skin and skin tone. Because our skin can be both a vulnerability and a defense. But most importantly, it can be a source of celebration.”

Leading the charge is makeup artist Kat Bahadur who is extremely passionate about makeup. Thanks to her hashtag and skills people are talking. Let’s get to gabbing, we got all the details for ya!

The Beauty Has No Color Challenge- Makeup Changing the World

Kat’s love for cosmetics has garnered her thousands of social media fans. Now she is using her platform and voice for a good cause. She explains:

“So I’m going to post a video speaking on why I’m pushing this so hard. It’s disgusting how people are treating each other because they want people to remain segregated. Beauty has no color.

I want to make people uncomfortable. I want people to begin talking. Moreover, I need people to stop being so caged up in their mind. Also, I need people to start loving and stop bashing people just because we want to be unified.

God made us all beautiful. Beauty has no color. This look was inspired by the comment section in the picture where I had multiple shades. We as a people need to stop this race competition. No one is better than another. We are all equal in the eyes of God. Moreover if he sees us as equal why don’t we?

This world is hurting. Furthermore, we all need to learn how to accept each other. It’s 2017 let’s get it together now and more importantly we need to start loving more as well as forgiving.

As a makeup artist and lover of all people I challenge my other makeup artist friends to recreate this look and post with the hashtag Beauty Has No Color. There is nothing wrong with appreciating beauty. There is nothing wrong with being an artist. Stop being a hater and learn to love with your whole heart.”

It’s sparkly fashion world and we are just enchanted to live in it! Regardless of the season, we always love anything that dazzles, shines and gleams. Therefore, it is absolutely no surprise that YSL had us gagging over their Winter 2017 Paris fashion week show. All thanks to a pair of eye blinding glitter boots that we immediately had dreams of placing directly into our wardrobes. However, one uber famous style-lista has already beat us to the fashion punch! UGH, so unfair!

The YSL 2017 Winter collection itself was modern, edgy and simply fierce. Literally, models strutted down the grimey catwalk with long handbags like they were baseball bats. As if to say, “Don’t mess with a real one hunty!”

Yet, in a sea of black and neutral toned couture a spark of 70’s glamour shone through. The YSL 2017 Winter Glitter Boots are such sweet retro vibes. Its as though someone murdered a disco ball. Donated it to science and out came a pair of boots that were definitely made for walking! If Soul Train was still running some fabulous dancer would be rocking these bad boys on the very next episode!
