“I don’t feel competition with anyone, because the way you’re marketing your brand isn’t the way I am.” Those are the words of woman who is worth an estimated $35 million. With a track record such as that any entrepreneur would do well to listen to her advice. Recently, Kandi Burruss spoke out about business networking and why no one should ever fear supporting other businesses.
Kandi Burruss Talks Business Networking and Supporting Other Entrepreneurs
Everyday we see countless memes of how entrepreneurs “love to see other people win” or “support their friend’s businesses.” Sounds good on paper, but truthfully many do not do either. Why is there such a fear or lack of support when it comes to promoting each other? For one, some feel that by doing so they will be usurped or lose business. Kandi Burruss feels quite differently on the subject of business networking. Recently she reveals,
“Since it’s Money Monday I decided to post this quote from me when I was speaking on the Power Panel. A lot of people feel like they can’t be cool or support other people. [Especially those] who have businesses in the same lane as they have. I personally have no problem being friends with and supporting people who have some of the same businesses.
When I go to Macy’s there are tons of cosmetic lines right next to each other in the same area of the store and they are all making money. I use this as [an] example to show that we can all post each others’ brands. Do pop up shops together and celebrate each others’ success.
No one’s success has to hinder the other. Network and build each other up! This is for all my Power Players out there! We bleed success.”
Yes, there’s no need to fear the success of others. Network freely because there’s room for everyone and that is how the whole community comes up. Black Wallstreet anyone?
